Long time, no blog

After recently logging into Pinterest from a real PC rather than an app, I clicked on the link to my blog and could not believe that I had not posted in so long. I am bummed that I dropped out of the blogging world right at the height of the beauty balm madness but am excited to get started again!

I have tried so many new products over the last year but will focus on the ones that I am truly loving right now. It is winter here in MN and that means serious dry skin that requires some serious moisture and TLC. I have really been struggling with finding a facial moisturizer trying anything from LUSH, to bareMinerals to drug store brands and I am currently sold on CeraVe. My bCeraVe Moisturizers, Moisturizing Cream, 16 Ounceedtime routine consists of their Hydrating Cleanser and a big teaspoon sized scoop of their plain ol’ Moisturizing Cream. I love this moisturizer as it is completely unscented, does not cause my skin to sting and while it is heavy, it takes no time to absorb and does not leave a greasy residue. It feels luxurious but at 10 bucks for 16 oz, you can afford to be liberal with your application. This moisturizer does not contain SPF, this is an additional application for my day time routine and yes, I wear this cream under foundation with no issues. I would recommend this product to anyone with dry, sensitive skin who feels as though they have tried everything!

Another skin care must have for me right now is Bioderma’s Sebium H2O Micelle Solution. Listed as a mild cleanser, I use this straight out of the shower as a daily toner, it feels wonderful and smells lovely. I only just discovered the micellar water revolution but am hooked already. Since adding this product to my regimen, I have experienced improvement to blotchiness and overall skin texture. I have very large pores but this certainly helps to tighten them up and makes my skin look great under my foundation. I have not exBioderma Sebium H2O Micelle Solution, Combination or Oily Skin, 16.91 Fluid Ounceperienced any tightness around nose or jawline and can honestly say that this product helps keep me matte through the day. I love it and would certainly try other formulas from this brand as well as others.

Nothing beats the winter time skin blues like rosewater! I have kept a bottle of Heritage Store Rosewater and Glycerin in my car to freshen up the decolletage after car trips but had never applied it to my face. I had heard of the moisturizing and brightening benefits but was always concerned that as rose products can be very heavily scented, they would irritate my sensitive face. When I stumbled upon Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater, I knew that I had to try it. The scent is much more understated than other

rose products and I have had no issues with irritation whatsoever. After reading reviews on this product, I found that many used this as a makeup setting spray. Curious, I also gave this a whirl and was not disappointed! I have replaced my much more expensive UD setting spray with this little beaut. Additionally, I spray it on my beauty sponge before dabbing it into my foundation and this gives me a dewy, beautifully hydrated finish. Such a simple, charming product but truly a must try.

As my skin continues to mature, I know that I will have many hits and misses but right now I am loving my routine! I am a luxury beauty addict but am so pleased that I have found some economic products that pack a lot of punch. If you are tired of winter making your skin hurt, I would not hesitate to seek a couple of these products out.
