Illuminate Me

Urban Decay’s Summer 2016 collection has finally become available – everything is gorgeous and of course I wanted it all but I limited myself to things that I truly ‘needed.’ First on my list was the Afterglow 8-Hour Highlighter in 3 lovely shades. I was hesitant to purchase these as I was burned by their Naked Illuminator. Don’t get me wrong they are lovely but very glittery. I love sweeping on my neck and shoulders for summer evenings out but found them a little much for the face. As an 8 year old, I was huge into ‘Fairy dust,’ a very fine glitter that I would sprinkle in my hair and on my face – so my inner child really digs these šŸ˜‰ Anyway, I took the plunge due to my addiction to their Afterglow 8-Hour Blushes, the formula is amazing and could not resist the similar illuminators.

First off, these babies are silky smooth and blend like butter. They are shimmery but not to the point of being glittery and there is zero fall out. They did not highlight my pores or settle in wrinkles, they stayed fabulous all day. I use a setting spray and applied illuminator after but they still remained nearly flawless.

Sin is of course my favorite, a lovely champagne that I used on chin, temples and bridge of nose.

Aura was a close second, a flirty light pink that IĀ  only used on cheeks and brow-bone but I imagine could be used pretty much anywhere you would like.

Fireball was a little more bold with its warm, orange tones and I used it to brighten up the apples of my cheeks and forehead.

I am delighted with these illuminators, they really make you glow without being too overwhelming. If you want to enhance your summer complexion with some subtle shimmer, definitely check these out! I think they will be dethroning a certain ‘Queen B’ in my beauty arsenal *gasp*
