Creme de la Creme

Recently I have started phasing out many powder products and replacing them with gels, serums and creams instead. Reason being is that I just hate the way powder makes my skin look, excluding a few setting products and highlighters – I dread wearing it.My most recent beauty must have are pretty, flirty cream blushes! Lots of ladies my age seem to avoid blush and I get it, you can go from flushed to Rocky Horror Picture Show real quick but nothing finishes your face like a touch of blush. I find cream blushes very user friendly as they blend out so well and add a pop without looking overdone – these are not your great grandma’s blushers!

NYX Cosmetics is my go to for budget friendly, trendy beauty and they just opened a store at MOA (gasp). Their Stick Blush formula is awesome, I go for anything that comes in a stick and I have these babies stowed all over the place. When I saw their Rouge Cream Blushes I knew that I would be just as obsessed. They offer a range of lovely colours for just about any occasion, I picked up a few and so far my front – runners are Boho Chic and Tea Rose. Boho chic is a light almost sheer pink that is great for everyday wear while tea rose is a deeper pink that I have been using for weekends and evenings. This formula is dreamy, it feels similar to a balm and blends effortlessly without settling in and highlighting pores. While considered sheer, they are still highly pigmented and a little goes a long way – a few dabs with the BB, a little blending and I’m vibrant and glowing. You can build the colour to achieve your desired effect, these are versatile and can be worn understated or bold. The finish is dewy and long-lasticasesng, even if I apply after setting spray I still have colour at the end of the day. They are so subtle and easy to wear, if I’m not doing a full face I will just brighten up my complexion with a quick wash from one of these lovelies. The only downside is mineral oil being the first listed ingredient and honestly, as mentioned before I am still on the fence over this widely used additive. If you are looking for a fun, flirty addition to your blush arsenal and don’t know where to start – definitely check these out!

PS, I am simply swooning over these Plush Gel Lipsticks
