Every so often I convince myself that my eyebrows are falling out (they aren’t) and since The Battle of the Bald Brow has begun, I have accumulated a handful of brow products that I use on rotation. I’ve talked about my lack of brow game before, I don’t fuss with them outside of having them threaded – a little shaping wax and pencil in. I am no brow expert (I need to master the arch) but certainly not the worst I have seen…on most days… 😉 I thought I would share a brief run down of my favourite brow products.
For my brow products, I always choose blonde or taupe colours over reds as they often appear too red for my liking. My current favourite ‘pencil’ is Maybelline’s Eyestudio Brow Drama Pomade Crayon in blonde. I really like the way that this pencil glides on, it doesn’t pull and is just about as easy to use as a crayon. The pomade gives the perfect amount of hold without stiffness and this colour is perfect for me. Sharpening can be a little tricky and a touch messy but overall it is a keeper. I pair this with a swipe of Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in blonde and love the effect. The brush with this mascara is crazy but I like it and the colour is great.
I have a few brow mascaras that I am able to use sans the extra pencil fill in or wax set, hands down my go to is Tinted Brow Mascara by NYX Cosmetics also in blonde. Also very easy to use and of all my brow tints I think this one dispenses the perfect amount of product. The brush is a good size, I don’t get product smeared all over my face. I don’t have to use a wax with this one, it provides plenty of hold and doesn’t sweat off my face. I grab these by the handful when they are on sale!
A blind buy that is growing on me is Milani’s Easybrow Tinted Fiber Gel brow tint. I chose natural taupe and was a little surprised at how golden this gel was out of the tube. It is still a good colour match but a touch different than what I normally grab. The brush is teenie and tapered, it takes a few more swipes to get my brows set but I like the staying power and overall results. I will use it up but if I buy again, may try another colour so I don’t have to build as much.
Last and probably least favourite is Urban Decay’s Brow Tamer Flexible Hold Brow Gel in taupe. I have a few beefs with this one, first of all the amount of product you get is teenie. On top of that, so little gel comes out on the brush that I thought I had received an empty tube. The brush is also pretty tiny and it does not bend so it can be tricky to work with. The colour is good but I wouldn’t use flexible to describe the hold, this stuff holds and you can feel it. I will use it but won’t repurchase this one, I guess one good thing is that it doesn’t sweat off 🙂
Eyebrows, my arch enemies (haw, haw) and even though I don’t spend a lot of time on my them, I enjoy discovering new products. Not to mention, I will be set if my eyebrows really do start falling out 😀
