Tonight I am using two items from an oldie brand, Palmer’s. When I think of Palmer’s I only think of cocoa butter which probably isn’t fair as they have expanded their line quite a bit since my first bottle of cocoa butter body lotion. Nowadays they offer products for your feet, lips and just about everything in between with a variety of formulas for different skin necessities. I feel that their cocoa butter is the best, I have strayed a few times but always go back to this intense hydrating, deliciously fragrant, non-greasy body lotion.
We all know that I am a face oil junkie and I was immediately intrigued when I saw a bottle of face oil tucked in with all of their traditional body items. I balked a little when I read that it was their patented cocoa butter formula, I figured that would be way too heavy for my skin type. On further inspection though, found that this face oil was packed with loads of oils that are wonderful for the complexion and many that I have used before:
Sesame, coconut, sweet almond, macadamia nut, apricot, argan, grapeseed, rosehip and vitamin E. Also, it is formulated with retinol and antioxidants – what isn’t there to love? This teenie bottle was packing an all-star line up and I had to try it. First off, what I really like about this one is that it absorbs quickly and I don’t have to wait very long before I start in on my regular face routine. I find that at times my face oil needs to set for a bit while I do my hair or more often than not, housekeeping but not with this one. I thought I had used too little but my skin felt hydrated and supple and ready for the day! I have been reaching for this oil over several others for almost 3 weeks now and I love the way it feels, my skin is just soaking it up. I love finding a new face oil that doesn’t break my skin out and this one is budget friendly keeper.
I also picked up their cleansing oil, even though I love oils as a part of my beauty routine I never got on the oil cleanse bandwagon. I get the whole ‘oil cuts oil’ premise but I have areas of really oily skin and couldn’t imagine that it would make my face feel clean. This one was an impulse purchase but I am pleased so far, I use it after my makeup remover as I would any other cleanser and it does actually make my face feel clean. It is a very gentle cleanser and did not irritate my skin whatsoever. This cleanser is of course formulated with all kinds of good stuff too including vitamin A and C. The recommended usage is morning and night but I have only been using this one at night. I think that the results are just lovely and I am enjoying this product.
While both list ‘Rosehip Fragrance’ on the box, I don’t think either of these oils smell like anything at all and border on unscented. Neither is as indulgent as some of my other face products but they are charming little additions to my cabinet!
