I loathe summer, it makes me physically angry. There, I said it. The humidity seems to have diminished a little in the last couple of days, although I really cannot say for sure as it still seems oppressive outside. Even with central air it still gets muggy at night so I can’t sleep and I wake up later which means a quick face 🙂
My trusty Dr. Jart+ is a perfect, lightweight base that provides solid medium coverage with a dewy finish. Just a touch of concealer on the trouble spots, no sense fussing with powder and the inevitable creasing that comes with the heat. I have really been enjoying this Stroke of Light undereye brightener, especially when my eyes are puffy.
This Wet n Wild pencil highlighter is a recent pick up and is perfect for brightening up the water line, it is easy to apply and doesn’t break up with wear. This lurvly shimmer brick from Makeup Revolution is a recent favourite for eye shadow – the Rose Gold brick is so warm and summery.
I am not using this illuminating palette from PUR as often as I should, it takes a little more finesse to work with than my powder highlighters. I find that I really have to dig in the pan and then tap onto my face and sometimes this works great and other times it is underwhelming. Obviously, my favourite shade is the middle pan which is a pink highlighter that has enough pigmentation to use as a lovely blusher. I adore these chubby sticks from FlowerBeauty, they are very easy to work with and make you skin so glowy.
For my peepers, just a little prime and black mascara. I used this Lime Crime matte lippie today in cashmere, this stuff is amazing but I have not used all of the shades yet to do a review. This shade is really easy to work with and it dries down to a gorgeous matte, it is one of my favourites so far.
That was it, fuss free and low-maintenance. I hope it cools off soon but we aren’t even to July yet – I don’t know why I forget how much I loathe summer during the winter 😦
