Yes to Detoxify

Confession; I have this irrational anxiety that I will lose my phone then someone will find it and judge me for my shit taste in music. They will never have the opportunity to experience my vast interests and eccentricities, only that I own every power ballad and cheesy rock anthem ever to have been recorded. I give my playlists names like Inspiration and Fresh Air to mask what they have on them – really they are just chalk full of Rod Stewart, Genesis, KISS, REO Speedwagon, Sweet, Andy Kim – you get the idea πŸ˜€

Anyway, I have been waiting ever so patiently for some of the new Yes To mud masks to hit stores as I am a sucker for a good mask. Little did I know, what I thought were sheet masks were actually mud masks in big, flat pouches. I was expecting these particular masks to be in little pods similar to other single use masks. Not jazzed about the packaging, I think they are silly and a waste. There are 3 flavours; Primrose Oil (calm & soothe), Argan Oil (brighten & condition) and Tomato/Charcoal (detoxifying). They were on sale at 2 for 5$ so I grabbed a couple of each. With the changing temperatures my skin has been delightfully disgusting and I was more interested in the charcoal mask, the tomato/charcoal wipes are amazing and I couldn’t wait to bust this mask out.

Out of package, you get a ton of product, I really like to slather on a thick layer when I am doing a mask but I could see others getting 2 uses out of 1 pouch. The tomato line doesn’t smell like tomatoes in my opinion, all of the products have a floral scent that isn’t too overwhelming but noticeable. This mask feels glorious, it was refreshing without any tingling or stinging and didn’t shrink wrap my face as it dried. I let it set too long probably but it rinsed clean with warm water and a cloth. After removal my pores looked squeaky clean, this mask really cleaned out some of the congestion and left my face feeling smooth and refreshed. It is formulated with salicylic acid which I am huge proponent of, I’ve had great results treating my acne with it. Overall, I think it is fantastic and definitely easy to use for a charcoal mask that I find can be very messy. A few swipes with a charcoal face wipe and I am feeling a lot less disgusting. For the cost, definitely worth it – if you can find them, check them out!

      1. I own like…I’m sad to say close to twenty between sheet masks and actual containers with multiple uses. I’m trying to plow through them. I love masks. They are my weak spot. I try to do a mask three times a week.

      2. They are great for plumping up the skin and hydrating. They are very cooling, so also depuffing. I tend to use them at night to relax and the next morning, my skin looks healthy. I have one for brightening, repairing, moisturizing, and soothing. Well, I think I have like 12 sheet masks right now. I just love to wear one and read a good book or relax in the tub with a glass of wine.

  1. I’ve been meaning to try out the mask line from the “Yes to” brand, and i’m feeling a bit more confident to now that I’ve read your review of them, especially the charcoal one πŸ™‚ Lovely blog by the way girl!

    1. Oh, thank you! Charcoal and tomatoes, so simple but amazing. All of the products that I’ve tried from the line are really nice ☺ Definitely recommend!
