    Multi-Masking

OK, so I finally cracked open the second book in the Outlander series – are you tired of hearing about this yet? I should probably branch out and do a separate blog for this series, I read some spoilers and unsure of how quickly I will get through this one. I am the worst when it come to reading spoilers but I couldn’t help it 😀 I haven’t talked about skincare in awhile, mostly due to the fact that I have not been trying much new skincare – I am in a routine that I like and that is always a nice feeling. I found myself in ULTA (shocking) when all…

    The Best of 2016

I feel as though this year was filled with never-ending releases and that I purchased way too much makeup. Seeing as how I had to purchase 2 additional storage containers, this is probably so. We also saw a lot of trends this year, contouring, non-touring, matte lips, insta-brows, colour correcting and so many more that I am sure that I am leaving out (the dreaded baking, hands up if you think this is an attempt by companies to generate more profit from loose powder sales). It was tough to choose my absolute favourites but I kept it to 10 and here they are – The Best of 2016. 1 –…

    Birthday Wishlist

Remember when I was all, ‘I am not falling down this year. I will embody grace, agility…blah, blah, blah…’ Yea, that’s over, it’s cancelled – thanks to the unseasonable freezing rain, I totally wiped out this weekend. What is freezing rain?! Is that not snow – what is snow if not freezing rain? My birthday is in 1 week and I’m not doing anything crazy, just staying at home and eating some fancy foods more thank likely. I don’t like to make a fuss, I don’t like a lot of gifts but here are a few things that I wouldn’t mind receiving 😀 Sweet Peach Palette by TooFaced – I don’t…

    Best of December

I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend, it is raining here and all of the snow is melting 🙁 Confession, I cannot watch the second season of Outlander as it chronicles the Battle of Culloden and it just makes me too sad. Centuries of culture, language, land, livelihoods and tradition crushed in less than a day, I just can’t do it – not even watching it in a fictional TV series. If history is written by the victors, I cannot help but wonder what all got lost in translation. I should really just stick to reading the encyclopedia, I get much too invested in fiction. But I am…

    Blogmas: Day 17

The next 2 weekends are filled with events, this so rarely happens as I am such a homebody. Going out, especially this time of year means meticulously planning the perfect outfit and outerwear that doesn’t totally cramp your style. I hate winter coats, sure they look so gorgeous on petite little girls with the wool and the cinching and blah, blah, blah. I do have some gorgeous winter coats but they never fail to make me feel like a stuffed turkey. The arms, the neck – the whole ensemble just drives me up the wall. I am a big fan of Patagonia for everyday wear, their coats are very light…

    Blogmas: Day 16

Today is my last day before a 4 day weekend – woohoo!! I cannot wait to get cozy, bust out the long johns (ah, yeah), whip up some hot chocolate and stay up late watching my shows and doing some wrapping. I’m a huge binge watcher, nothing is more satisfying than finding a new show that has multiple seasons available and ripe for the streaming. Here are my most binge-worthy shows: Sex and the City – It is awful and Carrie Bradshaw is possibly the worst role model for women and young girls alike. Don’t get your life together, be a wreck, blow all of your money on shoes because…

    Blogmas: Day 15

Eek! Christmas is just days away and I still have some shopping to do, this never fails to be the case. We have a good amount of snow and are supposed to get a nice dump on Christmas Day – I am just giddy 😀 The New Year is almost upon us and that means my birthday – not just any birthday, the big 3-0. I’ve always liked the fact that my birthday fell so close to the new year, it feels like every year is my year – hello, narcissism. A fresh, new year will soon be upon us and here is what I want from it. To Be…

    Blogmas: Day 14

I am the type of person who will forgo their own comfort in order to ensure that others are happy. Not in every situation, I am not a push over – I feel that certain things just don’t matter and I’d rather protect someone else than subject them to ridicule. There is this older lady at work who calls me Shelly, not a big deal, it is close and why point out that she is wrong when it just doesn’t matter? But see, now it has snow-balled and there are a couple of other people who call me by the wrong name and it just doesn’t really bother me. I would rather…

    Blogmas: Day 13

I mentioned in my Christmas Tag post that of all the places that I could visit on Christmas, my dream Christmas trip would be to New York! I have been to New York a handful of times for various school trips and probably only 1 true vacation type trip to visit a relative who lives near the city. New York was of course, highly romanticized in my mind –  I was anticipating a million Carrie Bradshaws running around in Manolo’s or sweet Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks couples all over the place. Obviously wildly unrealistic but most of my experiences were surreal – I think I was in shock most…

    Tarte Addiction Continued…

It is a Tarte weekend apparently and can you blame me?! They have been releasing one awesome thing after another that I obviously need! Although, I had to send the BF on an errand to get my Shape Tape while I was at work and the 2 ULTA locations in my area were already sold out. I might just quit buying it since it is always such a pain to get my hands on it. I realize it is ridiculously popular but shouldn’t they be planning to supply that demand? I really think that beauty brands do this on purpose to drive hype, I must stop buying in. So, remember…
