December Birchbox

Meek! I am a little late to the party with posting my December Birchbox, in my defense I did not even know that I had signed up in time to receive it 😀 Colour me delighted. I tried this subscription box back when it was brand-spanking new and I hated it but after keeping an eye on their more recent offerings I thought I would give them another chance. December’s theme was Shine On some jazz about being bright and shiny for the holidays, blah, blah, blah. Here is what I got in my box:

birch1

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel – This, I am very excited about! It is a potent body peel that claims to treat a multitude of skin woes including keratosis and eczema of which I have both. I have medicated creams for each but would love to find a preventative treatment to use in tandem. It smells super yummy, comes in a nifty package and the ingredients while potent, aren’t scary – I plan to use this weekend!

birch6

dr. brandt Pores No More Cleanser – Here is the deal, we all have pores and if we didn’t have pores we would suffocate (see Goldfinger, more pore blockage but whatever). I have been trying to embrace my natural skin more but am still keen to see what this cleanser will do for me. This product claims to be conducive for oily and combination skin – check and check and I am excited to test it out.

birch5

Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo – Eh, I have never experienced great success with dry shampoos. My hair is just dark enough that it shows some residue but not dark enough that I can use the shampoo for dark hair. I also just don’t love how it makes my hair feel, it doesn’t feel clean it feels dry and crunchy. I’ll give it a whirl but the can says to hold it 8-10 inches from my scalp, I feel like my arms aren’t that long. I like the can, very chic.

birch4

Beauty Protector Leave in Conditioner – I have never heard of this brand but I love a good detangler. This spray also claims to serve as a thermal protector, smooth hair, lock in shine, condition and all while being weightless and non-greasy. I used it out of the shower today and it did make my hair feel lovely and soft. It smells like cotton candy, this did dissipate but was pretty potent on application. It made my bathroom floor slick as the dickens though so fair warning. I will def use this up.

birch8

Mally Volumizing Mascara – I am a mascara whore so I won’t ever turn down the opportunity to try a new one. I’ve only used a couple of products from this line, they weren’t bad but didn’t turn into must haves either. I have not used it yet but will probably test out this weekend.

Finally, I received a super cute little pocket mirror!

Overall, I got some things that I am excited to try and for 10$ I got exactly what I expected!

Thanks for stopping by ❤

  1. Looks amazing. I unscribed back in like March cause i kept getting repeats [like that real chemistry peel] and A lot of it was products I will never use.

    • I’ve heard the same thing about repeats from them! I wouldn’t mind duplicates on some things (I guess) but would totally unsubscribe if it becomes too often. We’ll see! Thanks for reading 😊

  2. Great box! I just posted my January box and I have a December Birchbox review up. I love the Oribe and Beauty Protector spray. I actually have purchased both in full size! This subscription is great. I remember the beginning and it did sucked but they have improved so much. Have you tried their app?

    • Me too! I signed up for Birchbox when it was new and if was so lame but yes, the quality is now much better. I tried the Oribe and it was so nice, not at all what I was expecting. I haven’t tried their app – but will check it out. I’ll have to take a peek at your posts too, thanks for reading 😘

      • Yes download the app. It makes it easier to review and to do Sample Choice. You can watch the video right in the app about the choices. I think that’s why I like it. I got all the notifications so I don’t miss out. ❤️
