Sample Saturday – dr. brandt

As mentioned a few posts ago, I am reserving Saturdays for posts on products that I received as samples and enjoyed so much that I decided to snag a full size of. If I don’t have one then I will just talk about a sample that I received and whether I liked it or not – I hope that these are enjoyable.

For my first post I will share my thoughts on the dr. brandt Pores no More Cleanser, I received this sample in my December Birchbox and used it immediately. At the time I was all, I have pores, you have pores – we all have pores, blah, blah, blah and I wasn’t super interested in trying yet another pore treatment. I think that I was speaking from a place of acceptance (and denial) of my large pores, I have tried so many products and some offer great results but they are just temporary. This gets expensive and it is discouraging but obviously  I was game for another go and I love this stuff! When I smelled it at first I was worried that it was going to be packed with crap that I did not want to put on my face or that would irritate my skin, not so. This cleanser is formulated with salicylic acid, tea tree and willow bark – amazing. The smell is potent but it is derived from mostly natural ingredients so don’t be put off, once you start to lather it smells really nice. And that lather?! Just a pea sized amount gave me luxurious suds, I personally like a sudsy face wash as it makes me feel like I am getting good and clean. I know that this is not everyone’s cup of tea so fair warning. This cleanser rinses without leaving any residue and my skin didn’t feel stripped or dry – it felt firm and looked bright.

I am at a little over 2 weeks of using this 2 times per day (as instructed) and I am hooked. It is so refreshing and has done wonders for evening out my skin tone and tightening pores. Is it temporary? Probably, I am sure that the results would diminish if I stopped using it twice a day but why would I when I love the way my skin is looking?

This cleanser retails for $36/3.5 oz. on Sephora – I however, ordered it from Amazon for $19.80. I have never had an issue with purchasing beauty products from Amazon – I just ensure that the seller or fulfiller is actually Amazon and always get just what I expect. dr. brandt offers loads of other pore treatment products and I have to say that I am definitely curious – this cleanser is a keeper!

Thanks for stopping by <3
