    February Fail – Micellar Water

I think I am going to do a series where I talk about a product that really pissed me off due to it being so incredibly bad 😀 This is the kick-off, enjoy!! Micellar water has been all of the rage recently, everyone is using it and every brand is releasing one. So many people rave about the L’Oreal Micellar Cleansing Water and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Having used this product multiple times now – I literally have no idea what people are talking about. I have used several brands of micellar waters, all with varying results but this one does almost nothing –…

    Best of February

February has come and (almost) gone – I feel like it is a filler month between finally coming down from that holiday high and heading into spring. Spring is my least favourite season *gasp* what kind of monster am I?! I just cannot dress for it, I cannot wear pastels, I am always too hot or too cold – I hate it. I also don’t get the ‘new beginning’ thing. for whatever reason I associate the crispness of fall with new beginnings – maybe because of the back to school memories. Spring smells like dog poop in MN, not even lying. But anyway, I had a few favourites this month…

New in Drugstore Beauty: ExpertWear Shadow

I feel like glo-tions are everywhere and I want to try one so bad but glowy products look good on me for a few hours and then I just look like a sweaty hog. I might still try one, I know I’m going to try one – I just cannot resist. My skin goes in phases, sometimes it never feels hydrated and other times I feel like I could skip moisturizer (I never do), at 30 you think it would have figured itself  out by now. More on glo-tions later. Drugstore beauty has been killing it lately with their new releases, I find something almost every time I venture into…

    Sample Saturday – Lauren Brooke

A lovely Saturday, no snow but at least we are back to feeling like it is winter! Today I have another little beauty from a Vegan Cuts box that I received a few weeks back now and have been loving. It is the Sweet Sixteen Pressed Cheek Color by Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques. If you don’t know Lauren Brooke – check them out!! This line offers loads of natural, good for you, clean beauty products and I do mean loads. This is probably one of the most extensive, natural beauty lines that I have ever come across and everything that I have tried has been fantastic quality and honestly, not terribly…

    Anti-Haul #2

I think I am due for another anti-haul, I am getting new product alerts almost everyday and these are the items that I cannot/will not buy! It is so hard this time of year with all of the new beauty releases but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing (just say no). I received an app alert from Sephora that there will be several new, exclusive products that will be available this weekend only and one of those products is from Urban Decay – their new Highlighting Fluids. I am skipping these because I cannot with good conscience own yet another highlighter and UD has been missing…

    U.R.A.Q.T

I was so hyped that we were supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow and now, per usual, we are really only going to get 1-3 inches. I feel like writing a letter to the weather channels and scolding them for over-hyping these storms! That feels very middle-aged but honestly, it is so irritating. I talked about wanting to try SugarPill Cosmetics a few posts ago and at that time I had purchased some items but not really taken them for a spin. Their products are California made, cruelty free and some are also vegan. They have loads of unique pressed eyeshadows, lippies, a build your own pro-palette plus lashes,…

    Wednesday Reveal – February Glambag

February Ipsy is here and not going to lie – I tore into the contents already last week 😛 I was excited to get this bag when I received my spoilers as it had a little of everything! I don’t get the bag, is it denim? No, it is faux-denim and what is worse than denim? Faux denim, I do like the orange piping but otherwise not crazy about it. The theme this month was Much Love. Rodial Smokey Eye Pen in Black – When I read that it was a pen I was thought that it was going to be another liquid eyeliner – boo. This is more akin…

    Talk Greek to Me

I was in Walgreens this weekend and all of the new Hask products were on BOGO. They have 5 new dry shampoos that I wanted to try, I walked away with 2 and a few of their Greek Yogurt line. I enjoy Hask products, they use fabulous ingredients and they tend to work well with my hair. Greek yogurt is also wonderful for hydration, it works well on skin and I was curious to see what it would do for my hair. I picked up some of the Fig & Honey products, the first product I tested is the Hydrating Deep Conditioner mask and it is lovely! You get a…

    This or That Beauty Edition

I had the day off today so I didn’t wear makeup! I thought it would be a great day to run some errands and do a little shopping but apparently the entire metro also had the day off and it was madness out there. I don’t get it, I remember being able to go out on a weekday and it would be a ghost town. Who really gets President’s day off? Banks, government workers, public school students/teachers – honestly  that just doesn’t account for all of the people out and about! Instead of MOTD Monday I’m doing the This or That tag, this is a super old one and I…

    What I’m Watching

I’m on makeup overload (that’s a thing…), I have to get my stash organized and I don’t even know where to start. I thought I would shake it up today, I read a ton and I watch a lot of shows/movies/documentaries – here are a few of my current favs: The Robert Durst saga/tragedy has captivated the states for decades, I just finished binge watching The Jinx. It was written in part by Andrew Jarecki who directed All Good Things a movie based on the notorious Durst. I couldn’t stop watching it, I wonder if the fate of the women will ever be determined. Watch it, seriously. The Fall with…
