Sample Saturday – Hanalei Beauty

Apparently winter is over 🙁 The 8th was the coldest day that we will see this year moving forward and that makes me so sad! What a crap winter, I thought that moving to MN would mean arctic winters to look forward to and it doesn’t seem like that is the case anymore. This is the 4th mild winter that we’ve had, I think it is time to start looking at colder climates 😛 At least all of the new Nordic Noir books are coming out right now and I can read about winter.

For Sample Saturday I have this lip treatment that came in my December Ipsy from Hanalei Beauty. I had the lip scrub and this lip treatment on my Amazon wish list for months but they had both been out of stock, I was excited to get my hands on some. This lip treatment is formulated with kukui oil, grapeseed oil, shea butter and agave to rejuvenate lips. It appears as though all of the Hanalei Beauty products are cruelty free too! The sample size was a pretty generous 15g amount, I still have about 1/4 of the tube left and a full size on order because that is how much I love this stuff!

I have chronically chapped lips, they are just very sensitive and a pain in the butt. At least it seems as though I grew out of them cracking and bleeding but that could also be due to my exfoliating/moisturizing regimen. This lip treatment is a pretty thick salve but very emollient and it evenly coated my lips as it warmed up without feeling overly goopy. I like thick salves and lip balms for night treatment so the texture did not bother me but am also finding that this product is easily wearable during the day too. Call me crazy, I wear a balm under my liquid lipsticks in the winter and this one didn’t impact the wear anymore than my regular balms. It doesn’t have any fragrance that I can detect but it does taste a tad sweet. You don’t need a lot to coat your lips, just a lip dab will do you and it lasts a fairly long time. I can never tell how long these products truly last as I am just chronically putting them on but my lips did feel moisturized after the balm wore off. I love this stuff, I can stop using nipple cream on my lips at night (yea, I am that weirdo) hell – I can stop buying it altogether! It does contain nut oil, I can be very allergic to these but didn’t have any issue with the kukui nut oil. Grapeseed is amazing for your skin and my lips just soak this stuff up. I don’t feel that the price point is overly costly, if you consider that you are getting way more wear out of this than your average chapstick. Plus, it is full of wholesome, natural ingredients that you can feel good about putting on your face.

I love it and would definitely recommend – thanks for stopping by <3
