The weather has me just climbing the walls – I don’t even like spring/summer but I want to see the sun! I always thought that I would love living in the Pacific Northwest, I’d love to live in Seattle but we are in about day 7 of overcast and I am over it. It isn’t raining, it isn’t doing anything – just cloudy and dirty looking. I am over it, moving on. I know that I just shared a skincare post but for the Product of the Week, I am sharing a face wash!
I mentioned really enjoying this product over another rose cleanser that I tried as a sample and thought I would share more about why I love the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. First off, I love pretty much anything that I have tried from Glossier, they are USA made, minimally packaged, not obnoxiously marketed and their skin first mantra just makes sense to me. As someone who used to spend a lot of time correcting and concealing, it feels nice when I can apply minimal products and my skin isn’t bumpy and super textured and it is just more fun to wear makeup (for me) when my skin is behaving. This cleanser is fantastic as it helps remedy redness and irritation, it is very mild but leaves my skin completely makeup/dirt/grime free. The consistency is very thick like a gel and I was using about 4 pumps (ya, I am a moron) but you only really need 1-2 pumps to cover your face. I love the texture of this and I use my Foreo cleansing tool or just massage in with my finger tips and it feels so fabulous. It does smell like roses, but not too much rose – very light and refreshing.
Another thing that I love about this product is that it is formulated with poloxamer which is apparently the same cleansing agent that is found in contact solution. Why is this fantastic? Because I am that person that rubs everything in their eyes and most products burn your eyes because they aren’t meant to be rubbed in the eyes. Too bad, I am doing it – even new products that I have never used before I will be all, let’s see if it burns my eyes. Yes, it is psychotic and perhaps dangerous but how else am I supposed to remove my eye makeup without getting it in my eyes?! Some eye makeup removers burn the eyes – WTF is that about?! Anyway, you can rub this all up in your eyes and it isn’t going to burn – I’ve done the road test and the claims are true.
This product retails at $18 for 6 ounces which is not bad at all, especially if you use the correct amount – this cleanser will last you. I do an oil cleanse and then use this as follow up on most evenings but this can also be used on its own, just start with massaging it into your eyes and work out onto the rest of your face. They have a disclaimer that this product will not remove waterproof makeup so heads up there. This is a must have and I definitely recommend if you are looking for an everyday face wash.
