Shop My Stash – Jeffree Star Cosmetics

I wanted some stone faces for my succulent garden so we hit the garden center at The Home Depot and all of the little plants were so lovely that I couldn’t pick just one! I picked up this mystery plant in the cutest yarn pot for the apartment too! I hope I don’t kill it. A garden center is an interesting thing, in the area that I live in there are loads of new housing developments with dirt yards – I don’t get tearing out all of the greenery to build homes and then replanting said greenery…does anyone else think that is asinine? #treehugger. I mentioned a couple of posts…

    Subscription Box Showdown

I need some candle suggestions, I went HAM on the spring scents when B&BW (I’m trying out an acronym thing) had their three wicks on sale. I picked up all of the staples, sweet-pea, lilac, gardenia, lavender – which is nice and all but my apartment smells like a floral nightmare. I need something woodsy to balance it out, skipping candles – I am just going to throw some cedar chips down. I am switching things up for Sample Saturday, instead of posting about a sample I thought I’d share a round-up of subscription boxes and what I think so far. I am just touching on the main ones that…

Product of the Week – Michael Todd Beauty & Mini-Haul

Oh…and a rant. I am in a weird place with the beauty industry right now and feel as though a general feeling of disgust towards brands and faces of brands and marketing has been brewing for awhile. I try not to judge faces of brands too harshly, social media is a monster, these individuals are so highly scrutinized and we don’t really know if we are getting factual information. If you see something on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc then it warrants further corroboration in my opinion. I’m sorry, social media outlets aren’t credible resources 9 times out of 10. That being said, my fav (and possibly most trusted) beauty guru pledged to no…

Best of April & Some Empties

Confession, I have a pet-peeve (well, I have a lot but that isn’t the point) it annoys me to no end when someone asks you a question and you respond with the best answer that you are able to provide and yet they ask you the same question again. I assume that they are thinking the answer will change, has that approach worked for anyone? Honestly. And the pushier a person gets, the more I enjoy telling them no – that’s probably wrong but it just amazes me how poorly adults can act and I have come to realize that age has no bearing on ones decorum or manners…or intelligence.  I…

    Wednesday Reveal – April Boxycharm

Another Wednesday, another subscription box! My April Boxycharm arrived a couple of weeks ago and I have been using  the contents for a bit now. The theme this month is Boho Glow *eyeroll* I’m sorry, I get a little festivaled out fairly immediately and I don’t even attend any. Who knew that there were so many ways to wear fringe 😛 I do like the whole naturally glowing concept, I’ll stop ragging on the theme and get to the good stuff! OFRA Cosmetics Rodeo Drive Highlighter – That arrived completely pulverized! I don’t even know how it managed to get so smooshed with the case being left intact?! I have an old powder…

    Rainy Day Wishlist

I love risotto, too much so probably and I rarely get to eat it as I cannot cook it nor do I go to a lot places that serve it. Imagine my delight when I found frozen, 3 cheese risotto at my local grocery store. This stuff is amazing! You just toss it in a sauce pan for a few minutes and you have delicious, mouth-watering risotto. This is probably a bad thing 😛 Rain again today, looks like a wet summer which means too much time to online shop or at least online window shop – you guessed it, it’s a wishlist! First items on my list are from…

    Top Three Eye Primers (currently…)

I say currently because as I have said a million times over, I am a primer junkie and if there is a primer out there – I am going to try it. I have three in rotation now, I don’t keep a ton of eye-primer on hand as I do worry about bacteria and expired products so close to my peepers. I have oily eyelids which is super annoying and I need a primer that is going to control oil and keep my shadow from creasing. This is a tall order to fill as I don’t think companies really target oily eyelids – you can find oil reducing products for…

    Summer Glo-ssentials

Somehow I ended up watching 13 Reasons Why – clearly, I am way too old to be watching this and cannot really relate to the characters but Netflix originals are usually decent. Seemingly, though I could not relate to the premise now, it surprised me that there were so many parallels to my own high school experience. Sans the tattoos, do high school kids really have tattoos, serious question? I think it’s tragic that high school has apparently changed so little, you spend 4 years just trying to fit in and not get shit on. My family was just too out there, I grew up in a very small, very…

Sample Saturday – Michael Todd Beauty

No lie, I feel like a total jerk posting about this sample because I was ragging on it before I had even used it in my April Birchbox post. It is common knowledge that I have an affinity for purple and usually assume that products in purple packages are better than others – not always the case. Instead of sticking to a method with using samples I immediately had to try the Michael Todd Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner because of that pretty, purple bottle. Admittedly, I wasn’t buying into anything about this product but am now sold. The reviews for this product are pretty mixed on the Birchbox site but pretty…

Product of the Week – Glossier Boy Brow

I was in the elevator last night with my neighbor? I think he’s my neighbor – or maybe we just live on the same floor, which might not count as a neighbor. Anyway, he looks at my tattoos and says to me, I bet you regret that. Which my response should have been, I dunno, do you regret being ugly? He is an unattractive man, in my opinion but I can’t say that because it just isn’t socially acceptable. Which I don’t understand, I don’t get how some things are OK to comment on but others aren’t. Like, the whole he can’t help the way he looks, bullshit and it is bullshit – maybe…
