Ah, Easter Sunday and there isn’t a lick of snow on the ground – makes me a little sad. I hope you are having a lovely day, this is slated to be the only sunny day this week here 😦 Soak it while you can! ULTA was having a sale on some UD products including their blushers and powder foundations, I decided to pick up some back-ups in case these are being discontinued. I have been wanting to try their new lipsticks for some time but never knew where to start, there are quite literally 100 shades and just as many liners. As if the shade array wasn’t overwhelming enough, they come in different finishes too! I tend to end up just staring at the display feeling like I am in some Alice in Wonderland alternate dimension where I am drowning in a sea of molten lipstick – it’s unpleasant. Colour me delighted when I saw a display of lip kits with a matching liner and lippie! These Ultimate Pair duos are offered in 4 different shades, are a total steal at $22 and take the guess work out of finding a matching liner to go with your lipstick. I picked up the Jilted/Firebird and Ex-Girlfriend/Naked2 combos – the other two options, while lovely are just a tad too bold for me.
This was my first experience with the 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil, I buy drugstore lip pencils exclusively because $20 for one seems ridiculous to me. These pencils are definitely lovely, they apply without tugging and the colour pay-off is very rich. They are easy to use and probably a decent option if you don’t mind the price tag 🙂
This was also my first time trying out their lipsticks since the re-launch, since you know – the whole death by molten lipstick thing 😛 I gotta’ say that these are super nice and feel much more decadent than a $17 lippie. I could take or leave the packaging – it’s too edgy for me (shocking) but the formula is fabulous. Ex-Girlfriend is a sheer, nude rose with pink shimmer – I don’t know why it is called sheer, I felt as though it is fairly opaque and even. Jilted is a stunning fuchsia cream that I was on the fence about when I swatched it but loved it on application. Both formulas are extremely comfortable and not drying, they also sit beautifully on the lips without crazy creasing or patchiness. They do claim to be long-wear, obviously not being matte formulas they need touching up but overall really nice quality!
I am pleased with both, I enjoy this concept and am hoping they will come out with more! I don’t think that I will be picking up any singles any time soon as I just don’t know what to get. This was a fantastic introduction to these 2 products and I would recommend – they are such a steal!
Thanks for stopping by ❤
PS if you use the line, I’d love to know what shades you enjoy 🙂
