Fragrance Wishlist

I ordered one thing from Victoria’s Secret about 10 years ago – it was a swimsuit bottom and I have remained on their mailing list for some reason. I like to look at things occasionally but haven’t purchased anything since the swimsuit. I get this email today, and decided to look at some of their new items – one new item was a Choker Bralette. Wait, what? On what occasion could I possibly wear a choker/bralette – is this lingerie or an accessory? How do you get it on? I just have so many questions, if anyone owns one – I just want to talk…

I don’t have a product of the week because I spent most days this week daydreaming about washing my face. It has been oppressively hot, I mean, I could just wear less makeup but I feel like we all know that just isn’t going to happen. Side note, even though it is like 90 degrees outside, it is like 60 inside and I still wear my matron cardigan but today it doesn’t smell like me and I feel like I am wearing someone else’s clothes. Anyway, I have news – I finally finished my enormous bottle of Mon Guerlain and I am just so excited to finally purchase a new fragrance. Fragrance is one thing that I only like to have one on hand of, I like to smell exactly the same, all the time, everyday. I don’t know why. I have been bathing is this crap since spring so that I could be done with it – I did get quite a few compliments on it but I hate that fragrance nonetheless. I have a few fragrances that I am eyeing as replacement, let me know if you have tried any of these.

Tocca Florence – First, I love these bottles and all of the perfumes from this brand have really good reviews. This particular one has notes of bergamot, gardenia and blonde wood. I feel that this would be a good end of summer fragrance.

AERIN Iris Meadow – Does anyone know what an iris smells like? Me neither, but in my youth we had irises and I remember hot summer days spent out reading by this thicket of irises that we had. I don’t know why we had them or why I remember them but they were  lovely, apparently I never smelled them though 😛 This one is a blend of mandarin, black currant, cedar-wood, Egyptian jasmine and iris.

Balenciaga Paris – Another gorgeous bottle, that is typically what draws me to doing more research on a fragrance but I have been burned a few times. This one is violet leaf, pepper, cedar-wood, patchouli and vetiver – I think this would be a nice perfume for early fall even. The BF does not like patchouli but I also feel that he has no idea what it smells like, he always complains that I smell like patchouli when I am not even wearing it 😀

Berdoues Assam of India – Freaking adorable bottle but I also think this one sounds sultry, like you would want to be wearing it in the humidity. Notes are citrus from Menton, Indian tea and sandalwood from Mysore. Sounds fauncy.

Nest Midnight Fleur – This one sounds very lovely and mature, it is exotic wood (what), black amber, patchouli, night-blooming jasmine and vanilla orchid.

I think those are the ones that I keep coming back to, I would like to wear something other than Shalimar all winter long 🙂 Let me know if you have tried any of these!!

Thanks for stopping by ❤

  1. You sold that nest midnight! I keep reading that by the time you are 30 you need to have an adult fragrance and not wander around leaving wafts of sweet pea behind like a damn teenager, so I’m really committed to “smelling my age” although I’m not going to use that sentence ever again, because it doesn’t sound very appealing, does it?
