Sample Saturday – RealHer

I am late posting today but it is just the perfect combination of hot and dry for spending the day reading outside and I am deep into a debut thriller, it doesn’t get much better than that! Today I am rounding up a few items from RealHer Beauty that I received in various BoxyCharm boxes. RealHer is a brand that was founded on philanthropy and believes that makeup is a tool to empower women to be their best selves. Twenty percent of their profits go to charities for women, you can read more about their mission on their blog. They have a range of products from palettes to lippies that are natural and cruelty free – we already know how I feel about the natural claim from beauty brands so feel empowered to do you own research.

I received the Do Your Squats palette that is described as being your perfect basics and I totally agree. This is an everyday, work horse kinda’ palette that can be relied on for consistent results. You get 9 shadows in a magnetic closure case that is equipped with a decent mirror. This is a warm palette (in my opinion) that includes enough shades for a complete eye look. They are all neutrals so you will get a lot of similar looks but not a bad thing for an everyday palette. The consistency of the shadows is smooth, they are easy to work with and fairly pigmented.  I have enjoyed using this palette and think it is a good value at $28.

I also really enjoy the lip liner that I received in the shade, I Am Unique – a wine red that pairs really well with this eye-shadow palette for a pop of colour. I love the texture and pigment, I think this is a great pencil. I am not as crazy about the matching matte lip colour in I Am Fearless, while the pigment is definitely decent this lippie does not last very long and I found it to be a tad uncomfortable to wear. A few hours into wearing it, the edges of my lips start to crumble and I was able to grab the lipstick and peel it off. I know that most lippies, even long wearing ones will fade during the day but I like it to be more gradual and not to the point that I feel my lips peeling off. I don’t think that I would try another one of these. The liner retails for $12.50 and the matte lipstick of $18.

I love the brand aesthetic and minimalist packaging, the products are very chic and modern. These products were a great introduction to the brand and I would definitely check out some of their other offerings!

Thanks for stopping by <3
