Wednesday Reveal – August Sephora Play!

While struggling to get my lashes on this morning, I convinced myself that my eyelids are just too small. I watch these gurus using like 15 different eye-shadows and I am like. how do they have all of that surface space? Then I recalled a Trixie Mattel makeup tutorial that I had watched and how she wears 7 pairs of lashes, she wears them way higher up than her lash line because her face shape is totally transformed once her makeup is on. That is what I need to do, just restructure my face so that my lash line is in the middle of my forehead and I have more work-space.…

    Best of August

It was an interesting month for beauty and me, after organizing my collection I realized that there are a lot of products that I should be using up and I have been making an effort to reduce my stash! Many of my favourites this month are products that I have owned for too long but have a renewed fondness for! I have been using these three face products recently and talk about a dream team! I purchased the Porefessional Matte Rescue so long ago and do recall really liking it but then must have moved on to something else. This is a gel product that I use all over my face,…

5 Beauty Trends That I Have Yet To Master

And I wouldn’t mind if they just quietly went away 😛 Honestly, I think that most of these trends look really lovely on those who have mastered them but just look like a mistake when I attempt them. Contouring – I just don’t have a face for contour and I am probably terrible at it, if I am being honest.  I always go for the more is more technique when I am trying to carve out my non-existent cheekbones.  I have tried powders, creams, concealers – once it is all blended, there is no difference to the way my face looks. I just don’t get this trend and it doesn’t look…

    Anti-Haul #6

I hope that anyone who is being impacted by the weather event in Texas stays safe. I remember many childhood summers spent in Texas, it will always hold a special place in my heart but I could never live there because of hurricane season. Anyway, definitely thinking of you all. I have not posted an Anti-Haul in a while, I recently watched Kimberly Clark’s response to how she feels about this movement of anti-consumerism becoming a social media trend and how she is all about it. If you haven’t checked out her channel, you really should!! Here are some products that I am not gonna’ buy 😛 First up, we have…

    Sample Saturday – Marcelle

Sample Saturday, sponsored by mono and no – it is not an STD if you were wondering. I am on about week 4, how did I get mono? No idea, how does anyone get mono? I don’t share drinks, I don’t share eating utensils, I don’t touch things in public. I went for a check up on Thursday, yup, still have it. I feel mostly fine, it is weird that the really bad symptoms coincided with some vaccinations that I had and I just chalked it up to that until one day I was pretty certain that I was dying, went to the doctor and it was just mono. Is…

First Impression Friday – melt cosmetics

Like The 45 needs anyone else causing drama that reflects poorly on the White House, you have Ms. Linton clapping back at people on social media over a Kentucky day trip. When I first read the story, I was wondering why she needed to attend the reform meeting in the first place and reports are now that they went to view the eclipse. Honestly, what? I get that they are an independently wealthy couple but when you arrive in an official jet with United States of America emblazoned on it – tax payers might have a few questions. When you work for the public, no matter what your role is, the public’s…

    Trying On – tatcha

Has anyone else noticed the excessive amount of ads there are on news websites? I don’t know if I just never noticed before…? I was trying to watch a news story this morning on a major news network and I couldn’t due to all of the ads that were trying to load. Instead of being able to hear the news commentator, all I could hear was a L’Oreal ad – I guess you can’t keep Anderson Cooper in expensive suits and fresh low-lights by just reporting the news 😛 I am a skincare addict, I love trying new products, tatcha is a luxury skincare line that I have been wanting to try…

    Wednesday Reveal – August Glambag

I have whittled my beauty sub-boxes down to three, I would still like to try a paper/craft subscription box but haven’t found one that seems worth the money. I would also prefer it to be a quarterly box rather than monthly as all of these odds and ends stack up fast when they are coming in every month. My August Ipsy arrived and I am really pleased with this one! I could take or leave the bag, of the choices, I do like the purple colour scheme the most but there are words that could be used to describe me, Wild & Free are not those words. Still, I think it is pretty…

    BOTM – First Impression

I don’t have a beauty post today because the overcast weather that we have been enjoying hasn’t presented a lot of opportunities for photos. I thought that I would share my first month experience with my Book of the Month subscription and a little review of the book that I read. The BOTM club offers a few different membership options, I chose the single book each month for $15 and I can add additional books for $9.99. They offer a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, I find that they have a ton of debut books and new releases to choose from. At the first of each month, they announce what books are…

First off, it is so overcast and cloudy today that the chance of experiencing the eclipse even a little is totally shot! It is so black out, it feels as though we are already experiencing one anyway. I hope that if you live in an area where you can see it that you get out there – so jealous!! If I wanted to view the entire eclipse, I would need to travel 307 miles – most unlikely that I will be able to fit that in today 😛 Also, I was watching this warning from a scientist who apparently decided to not wear appropriate eye-wear while viewing a solar eclipse…
