PSA – funny story before I get into my actual PSA, I was reading an op-ed not terribly long ago and the author used PSA (Public Service Announcement) prior to just asking a general question. It cracked me up – was it just hyperbole to grab the reader’s attention? I didn’t get it, I am unsure if the author is aware of what the acronym stands for?
The second one has literally nothing to do with anything but it made me cackle. Speaking of cackling, how close are we to Halloween, people?! So close. Anyway, PSA – glitter is back in a big way. I will take my glitter pretty much anyway that I can get it, I enjoy shimmery lotions and glittery eye-shadows but haven’t dabbled in glittery lip products. With a few recent releases though, it looks like this trend is here to stay and here are a few products that I would love to try.
To start, we have Lime Crime – the brand that we all love to hate. When I first saw their line of Diamond Crushers I didn’t think that they would be very wearable and in all honesty, they probably aren’t but they have released a few new shades that I think could work. There are currently 15 shades that retail for $18 each – these are described as a lip topper on the site but you can also wear them on bare lips as they do have pigment. I am intrigued. Also, the names are super weird…
The next glittery lip goodness is from Kat Von D and I actually had the opportunity to purchase these before the launch date and I passed because I thought that they weren’t for me! The Everlasting Glimmer Veil Liquid Lipstick comes in the most stunning tube, it looks as though there are 9 shades and these retail at $22 each. I think they look simply gorgeous but Thundersturck is probably the most wearable. These will be available on sephora.com on 8/22 – stay strong.
Ciate London just released a line of Glitter Flips which are transforming glitter liquid lipstick in metallic matte hues. There are 7 shades and these retail for $19 each, they are currently available on sephora.com. Glitter and matte seem like two completely opposite finishes, I am interested to see exactly how they dry down.
Kevyn Aucoin released their Molten Lip Color awhile ago and I skipped on those but am interested in their new Molten Lip Color Top Coats. There are two shimmer shades and in the spirit of this brand, they are expensive at $30 each. Can we talk about how much I adore Kevyn Aucoin though? He was such a classy guy, his cameo in Sex in the City still gets me a little weepy 🙁
Anyway, glitter lips for fall sounds like a trend that I want to get on board with. I think that glitter on a matte lip that may be too dry on its own could work, I can’t wait to give this a whirl!
Thanks for stopping by <3
