    Best of September

It’s 48 degrees outside, what a glorious morning. October is my favourite month, I hope it doesn’t fly by 🙁 I don’t have a ton of favourites, this was another month of trying to use products up and most are products that I have had for so long because I simply don’t like them. But I did have a few products that I loved this month. This powder, what can I say about the Dermablend Loose Setting Powder? It is amazing, it is finely milled, not too heavy and does an incredible job of keeping my makeup in place all day. It’s fairly affordable too in comparison to other high-end…

Product of the Week – Curology

I know what you are thinking, That brand on Instagram? To which my response is, Yup – that brand on Instagram. Here is the deal, I purchase my healthcare independently and have ever since I was diagnosed with my immune disorder about 10 years ago. I am not eligible for insurance through my employer and not having insurance just isn’t an option for me. I don’t understand how people choose to skip on insurance, it is your responsibility, you make sacrifices and manage your priorities. I would rather not eat than not have insurance, I mean, that seems extreme but that’s how important it is to me. Lots of things changed with…

  • Show Me Your Empties

    Some September Empties!

I hate shopping for clothes; online or in store, it doesn’t matter. It is boring, I don’t understand trends and if it doesn’t come in black then I am not interested. I have been on the hunt for a black and white striped shirt for-ever and finally thought I had found one, I ordered, it arrives and I whip it out of the box, put it on – it’s a crop top. It looked like a regular top online though, brands need to add scale photos to their product shots to assist people like myself. I could probably wear it with that sequin skirt that I have yet to wear…

    Wednesday Reveal – September Glambag

I was super excited for this month’s Ipsy as I thought the bag design was super chic and I was not disappointed! Yea, it’s pleather but it has an interesting texture and feels nice and sturdy, it is also lined – I have replaced my daytime makeup bag with this beaut. The theme this month was Like a Boss, here is what came in my bag: Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Medium Angled Shading Brush – The face brushes from this brand have been hit and miss with me, I have a couple that I use everyday so I don’t know what to expect from this one. I don’t think that I have…

Fall In – Lashes & Liner Edition

I didn’t think that I was going to have enough products to add this installment but I do! I have been venturing more into eye pencils as I find them easier to smudge on the top lid than gels, obviously and I like how they apply over cream shadows. I wear mostly browns and black/browns but recently have been adding some subtle colour to my liner, here are my fall transition picks for eyeliner! Fiona Stiles Orchard – This is my very last pencil in this shade, I am pretty bummed about it too. The Ultra-Smooth Eye Defining Pencils are easy to use and provide a matte, pigmented line. This…

    Fall In – Blush Edition

Continuing on with my fall makeup mini-series, I have 4 blushers to share today. For fall colours, I like blushers with brown and rose tones and a little shimmer as my skin tends to get very dry this time of year and that helps to add glow. Dallas by Benefit is a blusher/bronzer with a matte finish, it is easy to over do it with this one but I love it. It has an interesting bronzing effect but also warms the complexion with a dusty rose tone. Papa Don’t Peach by TooFaced while it does have a completely asinine name, this one is stunning too. It isn’t peach toned on…

Sample Saturday – Kiehl’s Night Owl Set

I purchased a new Glade scent, Flannel Embrace – it is supposed to be a fall scent and it smells nice. It’s a nice blend of woodsy meets spicy and I am allergic to it. We have come full circle, I am allergic to the scent of my favourite season. I would do unspeakable things for someone if they would simply cure allergies – if you know of a mad scientist who is in need of some unspeakable things, let me know. Today’s Sample Saturday is a little different, I have a Kiehl’s sample set that came with a recent order. It included 5 of their best-selling night time treatments…

First Impression Friday – ABH Lip Gloss

I received a few emails regarding Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Eye Palette that was available yesterday and this is all that I have to say about it: I was expecting something way more unique but what a disappointment, it literally looks like every other nude palette that every brand has. Anyway, I finally ordered a tube of Moon Jelly lip gloss that I have been wanting for ages but never committed to. I don’t know why, I definitely wear gloss – I will even freshen up a matte lip with a little gloss if it is looking too dry. I guess that I don’t like to splurge on glosses, it just doesn’t…

    Currently Coveting – Man Ray

I love it when I am just casually sitting at my desk, minding my business (probably not) eating a snack cake (I wasn’t but you get the idea) and my foundation is oxidizing like a son of a beast. I about peed my pants when I went to the restroom and my face looked like a bad self-tan! I have had it with the NARS All Day Luminous Foundation, I am about to pitch this bottle. I used to love this foundation and now it is just a giant struggle to wear it. I just expect more from a $49 bottle of foundation! Speaking of NARS, they are releasing a holiday collection that…

Wednesday Reveal – September Sephora Play!

Between the extreme weather events, politics, protests, the economy, politics – I will be glad to see the ass end of 2017. I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones and I still think this was a long, tumultuous year. I am hoping for a better 2018 for all of mankind and the animals and the environment and anything else that got the shaft this year. My Play! box arrived, this box is seemingly all about fall beauty and transitioning beauty routines as we head into a new season. Here is what came in my bag: benefit cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel – I received shade 3,…
