Wednesday Reveal – September Sephora Play!

Between the extreme weather events, politics, protests, the economy, politics – I will be glad to see the ass end of 2017. I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones and I still think this was a long, tumultuous year. I am hoping for a better 2018 for all of mankind and the animals and the environment and anything else that got the shaft this year.

My Play! box arrived, this box is seemingly all about fall beauty and transitioning beauty routines as we head into a new season. Here is what came in my bag:

benefit cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel – I received shade 3, I think, that is what is stamped on the tube anyway. This appears to be a regular brow gel, I thought that it had those weird fiber particles in it but I don’t see anything. The spoolie is very teenie and reminds me of Boy Brow which is my favourite brow product. I don’t do a lot to my brows but glad to test out another gel product.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black – This is a precision, felt tip liner that lasts all day without smearing or smudging. I cannot use liquid liners and can only imagine what a mess I would make with a waterproof one. I just don’t love the way that liquid liner looks on me, I think it closes off my eyes and looks very harsh. I do like this brand but this will be a gift-away.

DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask – This is a deep conditioning mask for curly and wavy hair to infuse it with moisture and reduce frizz. This is probably TMI but I recently had a terrible experience with a deep conditioning mask, it caused me to break out all over my scalp, along my hairline, all over my back and neck – it was so freaking gross. I am hesitant to try this but also know that my hair is super dry and it might really help with frizz. We’ll see.

Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Happy  – I don’t know where I have been but I had no idea that this brand even made lipstick. This is a fuchsia shimmer shade, I didn’t swatch it because I don’t really wear a ton of traditional lipsticks and this will be a gift-away. I like the sleek, matte tube though.

Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb – I just received a cream from this brand in another box not terribly long ago but it was a gel. I did like it, this brand seems great for sensitive skin. This cream is supposed to provide deep hydration and improve the elasticity of the skin. The ‘cushiony cream’ is supposed to burst when applied releasing a flood of moisture. Sounds way more exciting than I know it is going to be 🙂

Not a bad box, I liked the variety of this one and will use most of the items. What did you get?

Thanks for stopping by ❤

  1. I looooooved the bag this month. This material is so much better than what we’ve been getting over the summer. I got an aqua bomb (moisturizer?) from belief, a night cream, the benefit gimme brow fiber gel, a sephora eyeliner pencil, shampoo and conditioner samples, and a UD lipstick which I’m sooo excited about!

    • I agree, they were feeling super cheap! The Aqua-Bomb is the one that I received in another box and I really liked it! I have heard that the Sephora eye pencil is really nice! Sounds like a good bag 🙂
