Sample Saturday – OUAI

I have a bit of a rant this morning, about something completely lame – it makes me feel lame even talking about it but that should make the people who do it feel even more lame. I am talking about following to unfollow – it’s tacky and completely negates the social aspect of social media. If it’s just a numbers game, why even waste time following people, determining when they follow back and then unfollowing…? Why not just buy followers at that point? Seems way easier, in my opinion. I didn’t even know this was a thing but now that I know that this happens, it totally sucks the fun out of Instagram, it just seems like a bunch of wasted time and energy. I hope that those who follow my content do so because they enjoy it.

Anyway, I have my hair appointment scheduled and am trying to blast through some hair care samples as I won’t be obsessively deep-conditioning my hair any longer. I will still use hair masks but not as often. I tried out this OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil this week, I have received samples from this brand a couple of times and mostly enjoyed the products. This hair oil is silicone-free, claims to lock in moisture and can be used on the hair and body. This one was a little meh, I prefer dry oils for my hair and this one was fairly heavy. It smells really nice but made my hair feel way too oily and didn’t absorb, I couldn’t wear this during the day as it would probably just coat the sides of my face in oil. It didn’t even work well as a body oil because it wouldn’t absorb, I tried using this as a deep moisturizing treatment over-night and woke up to pools of oil on my skin and super greasy hair which was unpleasant. This might be great if you have incredibly dry skin but it is not for me. This retails at $32 for 3 ounces and can be found at Sephora.

Thanks for stopping by ❤

  1. I completely agree with you when it comes to the whole follow to unfollow thing! It’s really annoying as it should just be about supporting!

Really wanted to try a Quai product, I always struggle with where to start on a brand.

    1. Yes – it should just be about supporting others. Oh well ☺ I’ve only tried samples so far but they’ve been hit and miss. The brand is so expensive, I don’t know what’s worth it!
