    Most Regrettable Products – 2017

To preface this, it was a great year for beauty and me – I tried so many new products and most of them were hits or at least usable. However, I do have a few items that I completely regret purchasing. These are just my opinions, if you disagree – keep doing you! NARSissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette – Let’s just start with a real heart-breaker. I was so excited to get my hands on this palette because I love the NARS eyeshadow formula – I have never had an issue with it. This palette is so lacking, it cannot be the same formula as their duo compacts. I put this palette in…

    Most Repurchased Products – 2017

I thought that I would do something a bit different this year for ‘favourites’ and instead of just listing favourite products, I have taken a look back through my order histories from wherever I purchase product and I am going to share my most purchased items. I know that I personally fall into the habit of listing new products in monthly favourites which is fine but sometimes I forget about the old standbys that I just repurchase without thinking. So, if you are wondering why I haven’t mentioned many of these products, that is precisely the reason – they are just there, so loved but so unloved 😛 I am…

    Most Watched YouTubers – 2017

I don’t have a ton of year-end post ideas, I have some product posts in the works and I was going to post my fave television shows but then I realized that they are mostly the same as last year’s 😀 I watched a ton of YouTube this year, like way too much – there is an incredible amount of content on there, most of it shit but I do have some faves that have stood the test of time! pixiwoo – I love the pixiwoo sisters, so much talent and personality. I think that Sam is definitely my favourite, she is just a bit edgier and she does the longer…

    Birthday Wishlist

I was purchasing cough syrup this weekend and we get ID’d in MN because the DEA apparently thinks that people looking to manufacture drugs will purchase their cough syrup one bottle at a time rather than just purchasing the crude ingredients or I dunno – cases of cough syrup. Honestly, who got that bill passed? Rep. Fitz Steele – you jackass. The cashier asked me for my birth-date and as it came out of my mouth (in slow-motion), I realized that my birthday is next week. I almost slapped my own mouth. I hate my birthday, it is right up there with Valentine’s Day and Easter – I am unsure of why…

Wednesday Reveal – December Sephora Play!

I received a notification that Nylon is no longer offering their monthly box and I am unsure if I will be receiving a box for December or not! This somewhat inspired me to cancel all of my subscription boxes, I have 3 shoe boxes of samples to use up and though I love getting the little beauty bags, it seems wasteful. I am also at a point where I know what my skin needs, I know what kind of makeup I like and I don’t get as much joy out of new things to try. I will definitely keep an eye out for luxe boxes and limited edition boxes but…

The Body Shop – Festive Shea Picks

One would think that consumers would be all shopped out but I too was up and about early to take advantage of the after holiday sales. I scored big at Target on some vintage inspired ornament sets – then got home and realized that I am out of storage, I think that this is the year of downsizing. It is frigid out there, I hope that everyone caught in these winter storms is staying warm! I received this lovely Shea Giftset from The Body Shop and I am super excited to use it. I have used different products from this brand before but mostly face stuff, I usually pass on the…

On the Last Day of Blogmas: Décor & MOTD

Yet another Christmas in the books, we did not get 6 inches of snow as predicted – my Christmas wish is that all weather people be fired. Does that job need to even exist? No. I will be packing up the décor today, but took a few snaps of the living room before I get to it. The living room was pretty traditional, the BF doesn’t like the pastels so those primarily go in the middle room and bathrooms. The tree is red and gold: I picked up this wooden sign from Michael’s a couple of years ago, I am headed there tomorrow to check out their clearance and see…

World of Legendary Parties – XII & A Recap

Eek! I am super bummed yet excited that we are here, it is Christmas Eve. Once the holidays are over, February through April is just a long slog to me and I hate summer so that’s it for the year 😛 Anyway, the last goodie in this box was actually a bit surprising – it is a Lip Lustre Lip Gloss in Sweet Stiletto. It is a pink-y shade that I will wear but I would have swapped the full-size lippie from one of the first drawers and the gloss because that just seems like a better gift for Christmas Eve. Aesthetics aside, this is a lovely shade, it has a doe-foot applicator…

On the 12th Day of Blogmas – Bath Treats

I don’t think I am going to make it to LUSH this year for their holiday range, I went to the store too early and I just don’t see myself making it back while the products are still in stores. I do have a bit of a tradition of purchasing the Philosophy holiday scents, mostly as gifts but I have a few left over for me this year! This product is supposed to be suitable for use as a shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath but I’ve honestly only used them as bubble bath. These make a really nice bath, the scents are subtle but enjoyable and the product amount…

World of Legendary Parties – XI

Today’s product is absolutely gorgeous which is  bit of a bummer as it is quite expensive. The Goddess Skin Clay Mask is multi-tasking mask that is supposed to moisturize, nourish and brighten your complexion. The secret is the Spanish clay, apparently this is supposed to be an anti-aging miracle but I don’t see a lot claims backed by science. Other ingredients include; sweet almond oil, frangipani flower extract and other essential oils. This mask is supposed to be good for dry and problematic skin – I have to say that I don’t know how great essential oils really are for problematic skin. In my experience, when I was having really bad…
