Most Repurchased Products – 2017

I thought that I would do something a bit different this year for ‘favourites’ and instead of just listing favourite products, I have taken a look back through my order histories from wherever I purchase product and I am going to share my most purchased items. I know that I personally fall into the habit of listing new products in monthly favourites which is fine but sometimes I forget about the old standbys that I just repurchase without thinking. So, if you are wondering why I haven’t mentioned many of these products, that is precisely the reason – they are just there, so loved but so unloved 😛 I am not going to share how many times I repurchased them because that is a whole other conversation but I did choose the ones that I felt were purchased a significant number of times in the last year. Now, some of these may no longer be in my stash for one reason or another but I am listing them as I still love them but might be trying something else currently. Here we go!

Pixi Glo-Peel Pads – I have used these off and on all year, I thought that I talked about them in another post but cannot seem to find that one. Whenever I venture away from these, I see the change in my skin immediately. I have very textured skin, some open pores and I used to be pretty oily. These peel pads help with all of those issues, these pads are soaked in a solution that is 20% glycolic acid and just make my skin look really amazing. They taste awful – fair warning but have helped with the fine lines and creases around my mouth that I am extremely self-conscious of. They did sting a bit at first but since I have revamped my exfoliating routine, I don’t notice it anymore.

Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil – This is by far my favourite oil cleanser, it feels amazing on my dryer complexion and just melts product away. I use this in a double cleanse but could definitely use this all on its own as it doesn’t leave any residue and it doesn’t break me out.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery – Hands down my favourite eye-cream, definitely the only eye-cream that I have noticed an actual difference in the elasticity and firmness of my eye area. If you need an eye-cream, I think this is definitely worth the price.

Sunday Riley Good Genes – This product hurts to love probably why I tried something else after a few bottles. I used this primarily in the AM on an every-other-day rotation. Yea, I love peeling my face but I also have incredibly acne prone skin and chemical exfoliants make such a difference.

The Ordinary. Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% – This is the lactic acid that I am currently using in place of the Sunday Riley at the moment because it is very good, very affordable and works just as well. I really like that this product is a liquid and I can use it with my sonic face device to get it really worked in. It stinks and tastes awful, why can’t I put something on my face without getting it in my mouth and/or eyes?

The Ordinary. AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution – This face peel is awesome and so affordable, I was worried about skin irritation when I first tried this because it is so strong but it feels great on the skin. If I see some spots developing, I immediately use this peel to treat them and it is very effective.

Baby Dove Lotion – Sensitive Moisture – This might seem really random but this lotion is a perfect all-season product to have on hand and it doesn’t bother my skin. It is totally unscented which I really like since it doesn’t interfere with my perfumes and body washes. I prefer moisturizers that are formulated for baby skin but they tend to smell like babies 😛 I have acne prone skin, like hyper-acne prone skin, products can break me out in literally hours but no issues with this. It also comes in a sensitive formula and I plan to give that a whirl when I am done with my current bottles.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater – I have used this facial spray for a long time, it is so affordable and it is great for sensitive skin. The ingredients have changed over the years, I didn’t really notice a difference when they changed and it still works great for me. It does smell like roses, hence the name of the freaking product. I love people who purchase items and then complain about the scent, I mean…

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm – If I see it, I buy it because I am constantly losing these and I need them! I went an entire day without any chapstick and not only did my lips crack and bleed, I had a red ring around my entire mouth – it was so awesome. I have to have this chapstick, nothing else does it for me. They have a lip treatment and scrub coming out, so ready to try those.

tarte Shape Tape – OK, I cannot honestly say if I love this stuff or if I am still trying to find my shade…? But, 8 tubes later and I think that I must like it. I will tell you what I don’t like, the wand doesn’t reach the bottom of the tube and there is so much product down there! tarte, make the freaking wand longer. I do like this, it is quick, easy and provides a ton of coverage. Is it just me or did it cost $24 when it was released originally and now it is $27? I have the receipts (such a drama channel thing to say) but in fairness I could have used points. Legit just looked it up and it did go up, that makes me like it less.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation – This is apparently the only foundation that I purchased more than once over this year! However, I did finish the 3rd tube and had it in an empties post and vowed to not purchase it again – I have stuck to that! I do miss it though, I have 10 or so foundations that I am using up but this one was just so good. le sigh.

Glossier Boy Brow – This is a surprising one because I have a tarte brow wax that I feel gives me better looking brows that is actually being discontinued! I don’t do a lot with my brows, but I liked them to look a little groomed. This product fluffs them up and adds some definition and colour. I like it, it has a nice spoolie but it is a tad spendy. I dabble between the blonde and the brown shades.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – This is my holy grail (I hate saying that) primer, I have used so many different primers and this one gives me the best results. It is very silicone-y and pore filling but it has a bit of a slip so it doesn’t pill up under foundation. It also doesn’t clog my pores, I was hesitant to try this because I do have issues with some of the more pore-filling primers but this one gets along with my skin really well. I love this primer, the jumbo size is totally worth it.

Dior Diorshow Mascara – It’s amazing and worth every penny, the only thing that I would change about it is the fragrance. It doesn’t irritate my eyes but I don’t love fragrance in my makeup or skincare.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation – This is a weird one for me because I freaking hate this powder. I used to love this powder but I feel that it now accentuates every flaw and makes my skin feel so uncomfortable. I made a bulk purchase when they were on sale and have about 5 compacts or so left to get through. I recently talked about purchasing a new pressed powder because I only had a couple of compacts lefts – I found more. This product was great for oily skin but doesn’t do it for me anymore.

Urban Decay Primer Potion – Again, I use a lot of primers and I like trying new ones but this is always a staple product for me. It really does work well with almost any eye-shadow, again, spendy but it does last quite a lone time.

Chanel No. 5 L’Eau – Super random that I purchased this twice over in the last year, I don’t recall wearing it that often. This is just one of those powdery, floral fragrances that is easy to wear but doesn’t smell too dated. I do like it, apparently, but I need to start branching out when it comes to fragrance. It’s Chanel though, it’s timeless.

Clearly, I don’t get through a ton of makeup even though I wear makeup literally everyday. Oh well, typically if I run out of something I try to just use something similar in my collection rather than run out to make a repurchase. I hope that you enjoyed this, I think that it is interesting to revisit some products that I don’t talk much about! Obviously, none of these images are my own – they are from the product websites that I included links to 🙂

Thanks for stopping by <3

I was thinking the other day how there wasn’t much affordable options for cleansing balms but I guess I didn’t look broad enough! I will have to check out that Palmer’s cleansing oil! I generally prefer balms over oils because I like massaging my face but I suppose I still can do that with an oil lol. Will add it on my wishlist. 🙂 I am currently using Boots Organic Cleansing Balm and not a huge fan. (Residue residue residue but thank God for the muslin cloth that’s supplied with it.)

May I ask how you use your sonic device with the lactic acid? You apply the product first and then turn your device on? It’s the first time I heard that type of technique so I’m curious!

Dove make really nice lotions/body care products. Will also add that to my to-be-considered list!

I like to massage the cleansing oil in too, this one works really well for that! I pat the lactic acid on and use the Sonic Eraser Pro by Michael Todd Beauty to press the product in. You kind of have to do the face in quadrants before the product absorbs. I concentrate in my smile lines, eyebrows etc with the device but it works all over the face!

Thet really do, I tend to forget about them but they never disappoint!

They are both pretty great! I picked up the Peel Pads because the store where I get Glo-Tonic never has it. Glad I did, they are really effective!
