30 Beauty Questions Tag

It’s Friday and we’re doing a tag, enjoy!

Swingset BB

I do! My mother bought it for me, it was a luminizing, loose powder by Neutrogena that I wish they still made. I used it all through college but it was discontinued years ago. Ah, the carefree days of only wearing powder 😛

Swingset BB

Very black, buildable and plumping – the only formula that I feel gives me perfect lashes is Buxom and I cannot wear it often because it irritates my eyes!

Swingset BB

I am a medium coverage gal when it comes to foundation, I do wear full-coverage formulas but I sheer them out with a serum or glotion.

Swingset BB

Ooohhh, I don’t know if I necessarily have a favourite but NARS would be my most-used. I think that high-end is becoming a tad over-used, I think this accolade should be reserved for not just the more expensive brands but also the established. There are way too many no-name brands hitting the shelves and I just don’t feel that they have earned their status. Tom Ford.

Swingset BB

Pat McGrath Labs – I just can’t do it, I have had a lipstick in my Sephora cart for ages and I just can’t do it! The products look gorgeous but how much better could they be, it just seems like you are purchasing the name but I am still curious.

Swingset BB

Currently, I think it has to be Wet n’ Wild – they have been releasing so many great products and I hope to see them keep expanding!

Swingset BB

Yea, not as often as I used to but I wear them a couple of times a week on average.

Swingset BB

I would say a BB or tinted moisturizer with SPF and then blusher would be second.

Swingset BB

Have we gotten to this point? Are we cherishing makeup now? I do have a piece of makeup that was my mom’s – I don’t wear it but I have an old tube of discontinued Estee Lauder lipstick. It is in the original gold tube, it’s an apricot shade – I am unsure of when they changed their tubes but it’s probably from the 80’s?

Swingset BB

Swingset BB

Probably too often and it depends – if they are items that I need then probably a few at once but wants will usually trickle in.

Swingset BB

I have a budget, one that I keep shrinking because I have way too much makeup.

Swingset BB

Of course, I love racking up points at ULTA and I do tend to wait for sales when I want something that I don’t need.

Swingset BB

Eyeshadow, mostly palettes which is ridiculous since I have more eyeshadow than I could use in a lifetime.

Swingset BB

I don’t think so, there are brands that I don’t necessarily use but I cannot think of one brand that I have totally written off.

Swingset BB

There are ingredients that I am physically allergic to that I do avoid but other than that, not really.

Swingset BB

I would have to say that I prefer ULTA to Sephora but I also enjoy the department store counter experience. You only have a handful of brands available but the service is always fantastic.

Swingset BB

I like trying certain new products but there are some that I always use that I won’t change up. Skincare is expensive and I don’t like to bother my skin too much with new products. I don’t really understand how all of these skincare brands are able to survive, the market seems incredibly flooded. I might have a few face washes open at once, 1-2 face creams but I cannot do much more than that.

Swingset BB

L’Occitane!

Swingset BB

Probably Estee Lauder, not only do they have potent skincare but great quality makeup!

Swingset BB

Charlotte Tilbury, all of the products that I have tried have a nice weight to them that feels luxurious and the rose gold makes them really stand out.

Swingset BB

Kate Winslet, never over done, always chic and classy.

Swingset BB

MakeupAlley and I enjoy perusing the makeup corners of Reddit, someone always seems to know about a new makeup release months before it hits other social media platforms.

Swingset BB

RawBeautyKristi, pixiwoo, makeupbyjaack, Tati and I don’t know if Tanya Burr counts as she does lifestyle too but that’s all that I can think of!

Swingset BB

Can’t say that I do! The product that comes to mind that I have tried most recently are the multi-sticks from Bite and I feel that those perform best on the cheeks but lacking on the eyes and lips. I tend to think that even though these products claim to be multi-use that they only perform really well as an either/or product.

Swingset BB

Not really, I have the motions memorized at this point.

Swingset BB

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t, eye primer is a fairly new product that didn’t even exist when I started wearing makeup so at some point – nobody used it and we were out there surviving.

Swingset BB

Outside of washing it, I just use a leave-in conditioner/heat protectant and some styling creme.

Swingset BB

Foundation – not all occasions call for concealer and I won’t wear it at all some days.

Swingset BB

I don’t think so…? I think my skills are good enough for what I need. My makeup never comes out looking like some the gurus on YouTube but I think that there is a level of talent that cannot be taught and I probably wouldn’t improve any 😀

Swingset BB

It’s fun, a creative outlet and it’s a way that I pamper myself – it still shocks me that new brands continue to pop up and new products are constantly being released. I mean, how many red lipsticks do there need to be?! I do like the variety but it can be overwhelming.

That’s the 30 Beauty Questions Tag, if you want to do this one please tag me so that I can read your responses 🙂

Thanks for stopping by ❤

  1. This post is amazing. I started my blog on January 5th if you could check out my blog posts and give me some pointers that would be wonderful\.

  2. I tried the Buxom Lash mascara this year and it is amazing! Not sure why people don’t talk more about it.
I agree about the Pat McGrath Labs – the price tag is for the name!
So interesting that you named Estee Lauder as your one brand to buy from. What would you recommend from them? I recently picked up their new Pure Color Love Lipstick and it’s fab!
And high five, foundation first, then concealer. I’ve literally had online arguments about that one.

    1. It’s so good – definitely an under the radar product!

I think it’s because it was some of the first makeup I used and know the brand pretty well. I still use their Doublewear Cconcealer, Doublewear Light foundation, anything from their Resilience line – they have a compact foundation that I like, might be part of the Doublewear line…? Yes, they do amazing lippies!!

It’s foundation! Like a house foundation, everything goes on top of it 😂 Geez!

  3. I loved this tag! I will have to do this soon – looks really fun and covers quite a lot. 🙂

I will need to check out Pat McGrath (as in Google it because I doubt it is available to me). It sounds like it’s very expensive…? I have still yet to try out Buxom but there is now a stand in one of my department stores, so that is convenient. Is there anything else from Buxom that you would recommend?

I haven’t tried Estee Lauder yet, or any of the big names in fact (Dior, Chanel etc.) but you make me curious about EL now.

I recently found out about RawBeautyKristi (a lot of fellow bloggers have recommended her) and I agree! I like the way she lays out her thoughts in a way that’s thoughtful and digestible.

    1. It was a fun one! Pat McGrath is new’ish – her 10 pan palettes cost $125 each! The only other product that I have really liked from Buxom are their lip polishes – I am not crazy about their eyeshadow.

Estee Lauder is a great brand, very established and really nice quality. Yes! She is great, definitely a fave, she’s really gaining popularity too!

      1. I just googled her! She’s British. I’m British. I should know her! LOL. I’ll have to read up more haha. I see, yeah I think Buxom are mostly known for their lip glosses and the like.

I know the Estee Lauder Double Serum (something like that) is a classic. What else is good from their skincare line would you say?

      2. I feel that she has been around for awhile but I had not heard of her either until I saw the brand at Sephora. I just don’t know enough about her or her products to really want to invest that kind of money.

I really enjoy the Resilience line, the products are anti-aging/skin firming and they are pretty effective. I really like the Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Finisher – it is a serum but I’ll use it as a primer. They do nice skincare!

    1. Thank you! Yes, I am also trying to use up a lot of stuff so that it doesn’t go to waste! It’s getting to be a chore, kind of takes the fun out of it 🙂
