100 10 step skincare routine that has steadily been gaining popularity in the US; which is exciting news for those like myself who have always been curious but have limited access to products. Recently, K-Beauty products have been hitting the shelves in many beauty retailers and have become much more accessible. I have dabbled in some Asian skincare brands including; Shiseido, AmorePacific, Koh Gen Do, SK-II, Tatcha, Tony Moly, Dr. Jart+, SkinFood but now thanks to Korean specific beauty sites like Peach & Lily and Soko Glam, I have tons of new brands to explore. I’ve adopted most of the steps into my skincare routine, for those who aren’t familiar, here is a chart of the entire process:
The only steps that I haven’t incorporated are the Essence, Serum & Ampoule/Sheet Mask and Sleeping Pack application. I don’t like the way sheet masks feel over top of more product – I prefer to use them on completely bare skin and sometimes I even dob off some of the left-over liquids because it grosses me out. I struggle with essences and beauty waters because they aren’t easy to use! How am I supposed to pat water into my face?! Anyway, I would like to invest in the whole process and have my eye on some products to add to my routine!
Aromatica Orange Cleansing Sherbet – I just know that this smells amazing, it is an oil based balm to use as the first step of a double cleanse. It is formulated with orange peel extract and will obviously, not strip your skin being oil based.
Enature Marshmallow Cleansing Foam – I feel like marshmallow had a moment in American skincare a few years ago and then faded out, I personally think it works really well for my skin type. This is also formulated with Vitamin A and C, maca root and lychee extract.
CosRX Low-ph Good Morning Cleanser – I don’t always wash my face in the morning but having a mild cleanser on hand wouldn’t be a bad idea. This one claims to be good for acne prone and sensitive skin.
Son & Park Beauty Water – I actually received a sample of this in an Ipsy and wasn’t impressed but since having used it, can totally vouch for its cult status – this is a toner and cleansing water that restores the skin’s PH balance after cleansers. I like to use it in the AM, it is a nice break from some of the harsher liquids that I use and still makes my skin feel clean.
Wish Formula C450 Bubble Peeling Pad – I just started using the C200 Bubble Peeling Pads and am hooked already, this one is a mitt-size pad that is meant to use on the body. The C200 has a ton of product in it and I can usually use it on my neck and chest but this would be large enough to do my arms and back too. Sold. It’ just a giant peel pad with various AHA’s and antioxidants – the smaller ones are amazing.
Wish Formula I’m Pro Ampoule Pad – This looks like an ampoule that I could handle and it doesn’t have the snail mucin. I cannot support snail mucin, I know it has become hugely popular but it grosses me out. Where does it come from? How is it harvested? What is mucin? Gag. This little pad claims to pack all of the punch of doing a sheet mask without the time commitment – you just swipe it on.
May Coop Raw Sauce – This is another cult favourite that is supposed to be pretty legit. I am interested in this essence because it doesn’t just look like water, it is formulated with maple tree sap and looks as though it has some body to it. I would probably have better luck not dumping this all over and wasting it.
Mizon Intensive Skin Barrier Cream – I don’t try different moisturizers too often, I find that changing my moisturizer is a great way to get a break out but this one is formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramide which are both great for dry skin. There is also an emulsion and toner from the Skin Barrier line that are supposed to be suitable for combating aging!
Be The Skin Botanical Pore Serum – I don’t necessarily need help with reducing oil production, I would use this serum for pore reduction as I still have large pores that bother me. We all know by now that nothing will truly close an open pore but a girl can dream.
I am going stop it there – I could probably spend hours pouring over these sites but I better start small. I have to say that something I like about these sites is that there is a variety of price points – a lot of the brands that I have tried have been spendy and I don’t always make a repurchase due to this. I have some skincare products to bin before I go for the whole 10 step process but I am excited!
Thanks for stopping by ❤
