Show Me Your Empties

Some January Empties!

It looks as though I have not posted my empties in a bit – I usually don’t if I only have a couple of products but I am ready to have these out of my drawer and in the trash! Here are a few things that I have used up over the last few months:

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer – This was a travel size that I used up, I have several samples to get through before purchasing a full-size. This is one of my favourite primers, it always makes my skin look smooth even if it really isn’t.

Wet ‘n Wild Coverall Primer – This is another favourite primer, it goes on like a thin lotion but creates a smooth, matte canvas for applying makeup. They just released a dewy version that I have been on the hunt for.

Embryolisse Crème – I found this teenie size at Target and then was lucky enough to find two big tubes at another location. They don’t carry the whole line, I don’t know why these random tubes were for sale but I am glad to have them. This is a really hydrating product, it smells lovely and doesn’t clog my pores.

Milk Makeup Blur Spray – This product smelled nice but didn’t do anything different than any other setting spray, it was also very drying and I had a hard time finishing it. I mixed it with another setting spray so that I could use it everyday. I also recall that it was quite expensive for 2 ounces.

Pur Miracle Mist – This was a nice spray for after washing my face but I won’t repurchase after they changed the size to 4 ounces but didn’t reduce the cost.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray – This is my absolute favourite facial spray and it’s so affordable.

Yes to Tomatoes Acne Clearing Facial Cleanser and Toner – I like both of these products for when my skin is breaking out, they are both effective but fairly gentle. I won’t repurchase right away but they are solid, dependable products to have on hand.

Peter Thomas Roth AHA/BHA Gel – I used to really like this, it worked great at keeping breakouts at bay but it just stopped working for me and it pills up under makeup. I stopped using it once I started using Curology which is still working really well for me.

AMOREPACIFIC Treatment Enzyme Peel – I like this quite a bit, it comes out in granules and activates with water into a sudsy wash. It is heavily fragranced but really brightens the complexion. This was a sample size that came in a gift set but I would purchase the full size since I can never have enough peel products.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and All Day Luminous Foundation – Neither of these will be repurchased. The concealer is way too expensive for the dinky size, it’s nice but not a very good value. I used to love this foundation and now I just find it too greasy looking and neither of the lightest shades work for me as they darken quite a bit once they dry down.

Urban Decay Naked Powder Foundation – One down like 5 more to go, I hate this powder. The shades don’t work for me and it is way too drying, it settles in fine lines and makes my under eyes look so crepe-y. Another product that I used to really enjoy but doesn’t work for me now.

That’s it, happy to have some products out of my collection that I didn’t love. I don’t know if I will do a post of favourites, I was disappointed in a few things that I tried this month but we’ll see what I can come up with.

Thanks for stopping by <3

I tried a tiny sample of the Amorepacific enzyme peel and only got 2 uses out of it so wasn’t sure about it. I’ve read lots of raves for it online so maybe I should give it a chance.

So funny how things you used to love just don’t do it anymore. I guess preferences change, skin change, and new formulations come out. This is one thing I have to keep reminding myself not to stock up too much on things that I perceive to be my HG…

It’s definitely one that needs to be tried a few times to see if it really works!

Yep – like the UD powders, I bought a ton on sale and I can hardly use it now. Learned a hard lesson 😂

I have been trying diligently to use some product up, it seems to finally be paying off 🙂 Me too, I am always curious to see what others use up!
