It is freezing here (which probably isn’t news to anyone in the US) and I just want to stay home and do nothing. I actually have a few days off coming up for my birthday – I do this every year and call it my Winter Break even though we just had a break it gets sucked up by the holidays. I have some television (and reading) to catch up on and have put together a little watch list!
Broadchurch Season 2 – I have put this off for too long now – the first season is definitely one of those shows that I have gone back and re-watched many times because it is so good. Season 2 picks up with DS Ellie Miller and DI Alec Hardy collaborating on a new, very different case. Miller is still dealing with the fallout from Season 1 and is now a beat cop, Hardy is still the tragic soul from Season 1 but I hope that we get to find out more about his botched case prior to Broadchurch. There are 8 episodes and I’m unsure of how it could compete with the first season but I am ready to dig in!
Luther – Mainly because I am a huge fan of Idris Elba, I had heard rumors that he could play James Bond which I think would be too cool. Anyway, this is another BBC crime-drama that takes place in London and I am generally a fan of this genre plus it has been given pretty rave reviews.
How to Get Away With Murder – Because, Viola Davis! Another actor that I will watch in just about anything, a class act. I am also a sucker for crime-dramas that are centered around college students and the dramatization of the student hierarchy and politics. College was not that interesting, just saying but I will watch shows like this all day long.
Fargo Season 2 – Yet another season that I have been putting off, not for any reason other than I don’t like to get caught up in something when I have so much to do. This story line takes place before the well-known story of Fargo and revolves around another mysterious death. It has Ted Danson so I am sold, who doesn’t love him?! I also enjoy watching shows/movies that are set in the Midwest, during the winter – not for any specific reason…?
I will more than likely watch a few of my favourite Dr. Who episodes and some Northern Exposure because those are always fun to revisit. I will tell you what I am not watching, anything to do with serial killers. We already know that I am hyper-paranoid about serial killers, mostly due to the fact that they can be anyone and are probably the most normal people in your life. I have to say though, when I have watched/heard/read interviews of actual serial killers I always think that they are weirdos and am surprised that nobody noticed, I don’t buy the whole Serial Killer Next Door thing. Anyway, I was watching something the other day that claimed that there are 25-50 active serial killers in the US at any given time. What?! I don’t know what the odds are on that but I had no idea there were so many out there! Alaska still holds the highest serial killings per ca-pita and actually, no Midwest states made the top 10 list but still! I thought I was on high-alert before, it’s a whole other level now. A bunch of random stuff that you didn’t know that you wanted to know about serial killers 😛
What you are watching, I’d love some recommendations!
