    Veg Sammies

So, something that has been hard for me while going meatless is that I do get a craving for pastrami, salami, corned beef – like, literally all of the worst possible meats. I love a good reuben or layers of pastrami on rye – I really just have a thing for sandwiches. So what does a meatless eater do when hauled to arguably one of the best burger places in the midwest and all you want is some cured meat? You check out the veggie menu and have some photos handy: Have I addressed my obsession with Scottish cattle 😛 Anyway, I haven’t become familiar with meat replacements and just…

    Desk Decor Inspo

I am about done with Instagram, I unfollowed tons of celebrity accounts and gurus when the algorithm changed since I was rarely seeing new posts from people that I actually know and some of the posts showing up in my feed from these big accounts were 3-5 days old. This worked for a bit and I was seeing content that I was truly interested in but now my feed is cluttered with recommended accounts – just stop, what about the accounts that I actually follow!? The whole thing feels very dystopian. We had new desks installed at work and clearly that means that I need new desk decor, I mean, probably not…

    First Impressions – Soft Glam

Here it is, the palette that made me realize that I just don’t like ABH eye-shadow. I own more than a few and it seems odd even to me that I am writing the brand off when it comes to eye-shadows but I just don’t like them! When Subculture was being torn to shreds on the internet, I didn’t get it – it was just as powdery, just as patchy and just as tricky to work with as my Modern Renaissance palettes (I’ve been through two) and I didn’t see an issue with it. Also, I think that Subculture remains my fave palette from ABH simply because of the wild shade array – I don’t…

    Spring Beauty I’m Excited About

According to the BF there are two types of people when it comes to the film The Usual Suspects – those who think it’s alright and those who love it. I told him that it was the best fucking movie ever made so apparently I fall into the latter group 😛 I’m sorry, that last half hour as the detectives realize that Kint’s story was all bullshit that he was making up on the fly while he is strolling away – I could watch it 100 times and still be mesmerized. Spacey turning out to be a predatory sleazebag definitely tainted the movie a bit for me, the script and…

    Currently Loving: COSRx

The skincare saga continues, today I have three products from COSRx that have quickly become favourite parts of my daily skincare routine.  I picked these primarily on reviews, recommendations and also my skin needs. These are all acne fighting products and even though I don’t often get breakouts, I still consider my skin acne prone. Lord knows that I am due for a breakout here soon, my skin tends to behave for long stretches of time and then freak out. At any rate, I am loving the way my skin looks now and these products are definitely helping: Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser – This cleanser is fabulous, I use…

    May Coop – Raw Deal

Things that bother me – when people who are past a certain age (like 40) print every-thing. I don’t understand this obsession with needing documents printed, aside from legal documents, all printing should be banned. They’ve been living too good for too long using up way more than their share of paper – there should be a paper allotment – 100 reams in a lifetime. That’s it – no more paper for you! Recently I was talking about the May Coop Raw Sauce products and how I wanted to try the popular essence. Not knowing how my skin would react to the essence, I decided to try a package of Raw Masks with the…

Colourpop Brushes – Hit or Miss?

As much as I love makeup and buying new makeup, I don’t like purchasing brushes. I have a few brushes that I really like and use constantly and will try new ones on occasion but I tend to be disappointed. I have been loving the RealTechniques brushes but before I started using those ones, I ordered a few from ColourPop and I have some thoughts. First off, these brushes are pretty affordable – I feel like I recall some hubbub over the price of the brush roll but if purchased separately, I don’t think they are unreasonable. The handles are white with two-toned bristles, they have a nice weight and overall, they…

    Windows Up Playlist

We all have that playlist, right? That one we are hardcore jamming to while pounding out some serious Excel formulas but will lie and say it’s NPR if asked what we’re listening to? That one song that you are screaming the lyrics to until you hit a red light and turn it off so that people you don’t know nor will probably ever see again won’t judge you. I can’t be the only one 😛 This is my list: Dreams – The Cranberries – An old fave and a great song, if you aren’t air key-taring the shit out of that intro though, it’s wasted on you. Yodeling, falsetto –…

    On a Tuesday

I had another post planned for today but the weather is so overcast that I don’t have pictures for it and so we are switching gears! Why is it when something bad happens, everyone wants change and we’re so passionate and we vow that things will be different this time but the further removed we are from the event – the less it matters? We are past the point of being able to learn from our mistakes, there have been enough mistakes and too little learning. Honestly, luxury bunkers?! It is stuff like this that makes me hope that human beings are really just the machination of highly-intelligent extraterrestrials and…

    A Little Haircut & A Haul

I had a hair appointment today, I got a deep-conditioning treatment and my hairdresser massaged my head. I don’t like massages, they stress me out but this was actually pretty enjoyable and my scalp feels amazing – I might request it again some time. So, seeing as how I was in ULTA, I had a look around and was tempted by a few things. I did actually need more shampoo and hair prep spray 😛 I picked up a bottle of the eva-nyc Clean it Up Shampoo and Mane Magic Primer – I know that I have talked about the primer in a post before and I do really like…
