I am watching the film adaptations of the Department Q novels and they aren’t in English – which is fine but I can’t multi-task when I have to read subtitles. I need to start learning to speak other languages so that I don’t need subtitles. Yes, learn more languages not to culture myself but to enjoy more pop-culture, this makes sense to me. The new releases just keep coming so of course it’s time for a little stop-shopping therapy.
Viseart Theory Palettes – These aren’t new releases really, I think that they just expanded the line with new palettes. This is supposed to be the eye-shadow formula to end all eye-shadow formulas but their palettes are boring. The shades seem done and the packages seem chintzy. I get that these are supposed to be easels but never once have I been doing my makeup thinking, Wow – these shadows need an easel. I think it is pretentious that the brand uses this as a selling point, I don’t get it. Not to mention, $45 for a palette the size of a credit card? I don’t think so and I know that I have all of the shades in other palettes.
Natasha Denona Tropic Palette – I own one of her palettes, I like it very much but this one doesn’t make sense to me. The shades are all over the place and I wouldn’t wear half of them. The package looks like something out of the Barbie Dream Mansion – just all around not my taste.
Nars Highlighting Powders – I know that this formula is probably fantastic, I have a couple of their highlighting powders but none of these shades are different enough to need. I think most would probably be too dark for me and the ones that I own are already too similar to the lightest shade.
GlamGlow x My Little Pony – What is with the glitter in skincare trend? Does the glitter dissolve and if not, wouldn’t it scratch your face when trying to remove it? It seems too trendy to be serious skincare and their price points are ridiculous. I cannot pay $59 for a jar of glitter.
tarte Be a Mermaid Eye Shadow Palette – I have generally been a fan of these type of palettes from tarts aside from the last one that I purchased which was a total let down. It was the third Rainforest of the Sea palette and was described as a highlighting eye palette and that’s pretty much what it is – a palette of mini highlighters. Also, the formula seemed to change a little on the third one and I don’t want to take a chance on this one not being up to par.
Glossier LidStar – These are new creme shadows that claim to provide 12-hour wear, I am a fan of creme shadow but the product images make it look as though these don’t provide a lot of pigment. I think they are more for just a wash of colour which isn’t my thing and what is this packaging? They look like test tubes.
I think that’s it, for now 😛 What new releases are you skipping on?
Thanks for stopping by ❤
