Friday the 13th Facts!

I am a fan of Friday the 13th, I feel like it’s a little taste of Halloween throughout the year. I especially enjoy it when it falls in October but it can be a stressful day for some. My mom was not a fan of the day, she would cancel appointments and stay home, it was bizarre. I don’t think that there is anything particularly special or unique about the day and most of the hysteria can more than likely be attributed to pop-culture. That being said, we are currently experiencing a torrential downpour that is supposed to turn into a record setting blizzard so it feels a little ominous.

Is apparently the real fear of Friday the 13th – Frigg is the Norse Goddess of wisdom and Friday means day of Frigga. Loki also has ties to the malice that plagues the number 13, he orchestrated the death of Baldr at a dinner for 12 after arriving as the unwanted 13th guest. Norse mythology has always creeped me out so the knowledge of this tie makes the day a little more eerie.
