Pixi Picks for Glowing Skin

Mad Men has to be one of my favourite shows, the story lines can be borderline but I like the costumes, retro Madison Avenue, the music. Plus the cast is stacked but I recently found out that Jon Hamm really was an alcoholic! He went to rehab while still playing the role of Don Draper, this is probably old news but I make a point of not reading or listening to any news pieces about the private lives of celebrities. There’s too much profit to be had when human suffering is the ware and I just don’t think it’s right. My best gal pal told me this and I am bummed about it – this knowledge somewhat taints the show making the ‘disturbed but brilliant ad-man’ so tragic. I still like the show but I feel a little guilty enjoying it now.

Pixi is one of those brands I feel like blew up over night – it was on the shelves for quite a while and I never gave it a second glance and now it’s everywhere! The Glow Tonic had a cult following and is now downright mainstream but outside of that, you really didn’t hear about it. Then, when I was finally convinced to try the Glow Tonic – I hated it. I was also new to the chemical exfoliating game and tried a whole host of peels before going back to it and now there is definitely a permanent place for it in my cabinet. I purchase the peel pads because the bottles seem so overpriced unless I manage to snag the 500 ml. Which, I have only managed to purchase one time because I never see the announcement. In a tub you get 60 pads for 18 bucks which is a 2-month supply for me. I would like them to be a little more saturated but they do the trick.

I also cannot live without the Peel & Polish which I believe I have raved about before. This is the perfect combination of gritty, physical exfoliants and peeling enzymes. If you have any dry patches this stuff just sloughs them off revealing smoother, brighter and more even skin. I am always astounded at how dull my skin looks if I skip using this for a prolonged amount of time. I feel that I have sensitive skin and this doesn’t irritate it but it’s definitely potent.

Finally, a product that I think is very reasonably priced considering how well it works, the Overnight Glow Serum. This serum is formulated with glycolic acid and I use it to help with texture. I can only use this 1-2 times a week at most because it is very potent as well but I like using it. It’s definitely something that I like having in my routine even if I don’t repurchase it all of the time. I haven’t had this in my cabinet for quite a while, excited to use it again!

I did pick up the new rose cleanser but haven’t used it yet and will follow up at another time. I honestly don’t try new products from this line for whatever reason but feel like they released a ton of new products recently that I was curious about.

What have you tried from this brand – any must haves?

Thanks for stopping by <3
