On Trend – Summer Trousers

A few weeks ago, I decided that this was the year that I would try to start wearing pants. Yup – I don’t wear pants. Outside of yoga pants that I actually use for their intended purpose, I didn’t own a single pair of pants until roughly 2 weeks ago. In the winter, this is fine but in the summer, it’s a pain and I just can’t be bothered. I don’t wear pants because I have disproportionately fat knees, I am not sure when I acquired this attribute and it’s problematic. I used to play pretty competitive volleyball and never recall the fat knee issue but here we are. I took a chance on a pair of wide leg, linen pants from Old Navy and I am obsessed. Not only are wide-leg pants incredibly comfortable, they can be dressed up or down with very little effort. Me and my fat knees want to spend the rest of our lives swathed in wide-leg pants, I have a little round-up of some of my favourite styles!

We’ll begin with the pants that started it all, these Mid-Rise Soft Wide-Leg Linen Pants are awesome. The material is super soft, they have pockets and they aren’t overly long if you have short legs like me. The only thing that I don’t love about them is that the sizing is all over the place, I purchased 4 different colors and ended up having to purchase each pair in a different size because they all fit different. Otherwise, they are great.

I also picked up a pair of these Linen Pants from the brand A New Day at Target, I don’t own anything else from this brand so far but I love these pants. They aren’t actually as flared in person as they are on the model and are also really soft.

These striped pants are by the same brand and I think they are going to be my next purchase, I like that these have a belt and look a little dressier.

Modcloth has some super cute, wide leg pants as well but their sizing also tends to be inconsistent and I am hesitant to order anything. I think that these Call it Confidence pants are totally adorable.

I can almost guarantee that these would be too long on me, but this color is amazing.

The print on these Floral Gauchos is also pretty fabulous.

I love this trend, I hope that it continues and more brands start to roll out new styles. I definitely recommend if you have fat-knee issues like myself or just want to be living your most comfortable life this summer but still look like you care ๐Ÿ˜›

Thanks for stopping by <3

Oh I am loving the A New Day Target brand! I don’t wear pants usually either, as we can wear jeans at work but I do like to keep a pair or two around for when I need fancier clothing!

Same! Their clothes seem to be pretty great quality and very affordable. I never noticed the brand before but am hooked now. Yup! Exactly, super easy to dress up!

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I don’t know about fat knees but I definitely have quite fat legs so does that count? I like to call them “shapely” though because that always sounds better… ah who knows!

I definitely agree though wide leg pants are the best ever! I have these ridiculous wide leg pants but they look so flattering when on that you can bet I will almost definitely pull them out when it’s a sunny day. I would love to get more but the problem is that I’m not particularly tall so it can be a struggle.

      Shapely does sound better ๐Ÿ˜‚

Same and they never look quite the same hemmed up! If they are supposed to be ankle length or coulotts, they will usually just be full length on me. Oh well, still a lovely style!
