    Best of June

I didn’t share any products for Best of May since I could only come up with two products that seemed like favourites so I just saved those to talk about in this month’s post. I actually had a few things this month so let’s get to them. Drybar Hot Toddy – I purchased this after I started using the heat protectant spray and they work really well together. They both have the same musky scent that can be a little strong going on but I never notice it throughout the day. It gives my hair a little body and keeps it smooth without feeling sticky or weighing it down. I…

    When Love Isn’t Enough…

Sheesh, this is a post that I never fathomed that I would be writing. I have been alluding to the fact that some stuff has been going on in my personal life but wasn’t sure what the outcome would be or if I wanted to share anything on my blog or not but since it will impact my bloggerlife, I guess I will. The BF and I have come to the decision to end our 6 1/2 year relationship and it really sucks. We have decided to be amicable and I don’t know if that makes it better or worse, I have only had one other ex-boyfriend and it was…

    #wednesdaywisdom

I have been on the hunt for the perfect athletic pant for ages, I used to wear some from North Face but they don’t make them anymore and the ones I have are so short I can’t wear them any longer. I don’t understand ‘athleisure’ clothing and that seems to be primarily what’s available unless I want just plain black clothing. I keep looking at Lululemon but holy smokes are they spendy – has anyone tried their clothing? I literally know nothing about the brand, I just have my eye on these running shoes: I have been looking for a soft running shoe and the shoes look great, they come…

Top Ten Tuesday – Ways to Create Peace of Mind

I am a pretty easy-going person, I don’t like drama or conflict and I avoid it whenever possible. When something gets under my skin though, it can be really bothersome and I spend a lot of time and energy dwelling on it. Recently, I have found myself in a situation that has really tested my patience and I have been getting back to basics, taking time for myself and trying to look at the situation from all angles to appreciate the different points of view. There are lots of ways that we can create peace of mind, what works for me may not work for others but here are some…

    Monday Must Have – Milani

I am on a lip-gloss bender, I don’t even know who I am anymore. Long-wear, matte lips never really suited me and I didn’t feel comfortable wearing them but I am fully embracing the lip-gloss come back. I have been using a few different brands lately but the Keep it Full Nourishing Lip Plumper has been my daily product since I picked it up a few weeks ago. Not all lip-gloss is created equal and most glosses are nowhere near the goopy, gloppy, scummy products of my youth but this takes the cake for the perfect formula, in my opinion. The component is short and round so it’s as easy…

    Friday Thoughts

I was planning to post a First Impression Friday of the Colourpop products that I recently purchased but I think I am going to wear them some more and report back. I didn’t love the overall look today but don’t want to count the products out yet. So, random thought post it is! And I am so freaking excited for it to arrive, I have a feeling it will be a little big but it’s still so cool. My vintage band t-shirt collection is so bitchin’, I need a Twisted Sister shirt though before I can really boast. Because it doesn’t feel like it, we had a string of too hot days…

    Colourpop New Releases Haul!

Oh, ColourPop snatching my cash at every possible opportunity. If you didn’t know which I don’t know how one couldn’t, ColourPop recently released a new foundation that comes in a load of shades and only costs $12. I have watched a few reviews and they were consistently good so I decided to order some after a bit of hesitation. The hesitation was mostly a result of the fact that I just don’t need more foundation but I have a problem, the first step is admitting it. I didn’t know what shade to get and I have to say that in person, the two that I ordered look almost identical. I…

    #wednesdaywisdom

I leave for my lunch break today because I didn’t pack my lunch and was jonesing for a diet Coke which my skin will pay for later. I drive by the local McDonald’s and there are at least 30 cars stacked up, I figured that the McRib was back (gag) so I went to a gas station. Turns out, the internet was down for a portion of the city and they couldn’t take electronic payment. A rather obnoxious fellow was heckling the clerk and says, Of course I don’t have cash. Who carries cash? It’s the 21st Century! This guy hasn’t scene Terminator apparently but Doomsday Prepper Stella shines in…

Top Ten Tuesday – Summer Flicks

That are completely lacking in substance or meaning because sometimes one just needs to take a break and lounge in a little vapid naivety. A look back at the fresh-faced teen queens and heartthrobs of my youth in some of their most forgettable roles, enjoy 🙂 Can’t Hardly Wait – Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt circa the Neutrogena days and a whole host of other actors that we didn’t care about. It’s basically a movie about a group of high school kids at a graduation party. Hewitt gets dumped by her meathead boyfriend which creates an opening for the creepy nerd to declare his love for her. All of the high…

Monday Must Have – Australian Gold

Shout out to Kim for posting about this amazing sunscreen in her Affordable Alternatives to Drunk Elephant Skincare post and convincing me to give it a whirl! I am not one to be on the look out for dupes, mostly because I am just bad at it and the few that I have found have been completely by accident. I appreciate all of you who put in the time finding dupes and then sharing them because it’s super helpful! Sunscreen and I do not get along, never have and it’s really frustrating since I have to wear sunscreen because I burn so easily. Most sunscreens will either break me out…
