It’s Friday, I cannot wait to go home and go to sleep for like 10 hours. I was having a pedicure with a friend and was telling her how exhausted I was for seemingly no reason, I don’t have a lot of work stress, I don’t have any kids, I don’t really take care of anyone, I literally have no reason to be tired. She says; Well – Mercury is in retrograde and you’re so sensitive. We aren’t friends anymore. Not really but I don’t get the whole zodiac/horoscope/moon phase thing (or if any of those are related, if not, please excuse my ignorance) – I have nothing against it, it’s all very Stevie Nicks which I totally vibe but I just don’t get it. I don’t know what it is but my nap starts at 5.
Laura Lippman is one of my fave true crime writers and what I found interesting about this article is that I always assumed that writers were inspired by true life events. I didn’t really find that very off-putting until I read this article though, it’s just shocking what can happen in real life. I remember growing up, I was horror movie addicted and my mom would say, horrors happen everyday – just turn on the news. No truer words, I tell ya’.
Amazon has been (is) notorious for not publicly reporting their energy usage and maybe part of that is the fact that they offset the cost to locals. Totally lame, I mean, how can they not afford it?
I am with the rest of the world on the ice thing and if you think that’s weird, wait until you are with someone who asks for extra ice. If the drink is already cold, then what’s the point? But I also find it kinda’ funny that so many of these were said to be rude, everyone wants to come for America but if an American was to call another country’s customs rude then we would just be uncultured and ignorant. Also though, I loathe baby showers so I’m just going to start saying they are rude too so that I can get out of them.
This pretty much sums up one of the big reasons that I detest social media and think it’s removing the human equation from the human experience. A huge social media personality turns out to be nothing but a performance piece – it’s creepy.
Need further convincing? You don’t even have to be an actual human being in order to amass a huge following, brand endorsements and basically many of the goals people strive endlessly to achieve.
When I saw that the Washington Post was addressing the beauty guru drama on YouTube, I figured it was a slow news day. But then I got to thinking (and Googling) about it, the global beauty industry generates an estimated 800 billion dollars. In America, beauty makes up for 25% of the total market – that’s nuts! Feel free to bust out those stats when someone says, it’s just makeup.
Fires are so incredibly devastating, we saw a few fires where I grew up, they are very much a real fear depending on where you live but we never experienced a total loss. My heart goes out to all of the people, animals and natural areas that lost everything.
Is there anything those geeks on Reddit can’t solve? Side note, have your heard of the Catch a Killer Box? It’s a subscription box that sends you monthly clues and you get to solve an actual case. It could be amazing but I haven’t heard enough about it!
Good luck with that…but get back to work on the fake news and aggressive ad-campaigns. Also, it’s hysterical that the NY Times ran this, does it get anymore close-minded liberal?
A little comedic relief for you, I hope that dog got his water! I don’t know what is funnier, the nutty GIF or the author’s analysis of it.
I am not the biggest fan of Friends but wow, this guy came with a total beat down. This goes back to what I was saying about watching entertainment simply for the sake of entertainment and I mostly agree with him but also, he needs to settle down.
That’s it, I hope you have a beautiful weekend.
