My book list is getting a little light and since I burn through books so quickly, I have been trying to find some series to get into that I can enjoy for a while. I was surprised to see some popular television shows that were actually books while doing my research. I did know about some of these but some of them were a pleasant surprise!
I have never seen a single episode of True Blood but this is the series that the show was loosely based on. The reviews are all over the place on this series but it could be a fun romp. I mean, vampires…so…
I tried to watch one episode of this and while it isn’t based on any one Stephen King Novel, it would give me an excuse to revisit the town in some of his best books; Pet Sematary, Needful Things, Cujo…
I had no idea that one of my favourite television shows was based on a book series! There are loads of books too, I cannot wait to dive into these and see what the characters are like in the book series.
This one is obvious but I don’t think that I have ever read a Sherlock Holmes mystery. I know of the more popular ones but never once have I picked one up, there are tons of these too.
America’s favourite high-functioning sociopath with a heart of gold is based on a book character!
I have read these books and while there is already a mini-series, I would go back and revisit both before checking out the new Anne with an E series that is in the works or recently premiered.
I can’t lie, the television show was a little eh and the books are apparently bestsellers so I am hoping that the show was just a poor adaptation of some great books.
Again, I wasn’t super into this show but maybe Walt Longmire is more interesting on paper 😀
While it did not run for very long, I really enjoyed this series. It is based on a series of memoirs about a group of real midwives in London during the 50’s and 60’s.
I have only read Silence of the Lambs which isn’t even the first book in the series but it was very good, I bet that these are good reads.
It’s pretty amazing how many great shows are based on books – have you checked any of these out?
