31 Nights of Horror

31 Nights of Horror – Spooky Television

I have been spending many a Friday night binge-watching television and just vegging in my own space lately. As much as I have enjoyed connecting with old friends lately and going out, I don’t want to talk about being single and I don’t want to be set up with anyone. Is that too much to ask? So, Friday nights are for my single, non-dating, childless self and I get to do whatever I want to and I’m not lying when I say that I enjoy this. I love getting cocooned into my bed with way too many candles burning and taking in some ooky-spooky television!

I love Grimm (up until about the third season), the stories had to come from somewhere and I like the idea of these mystical creatures and monsters living along side all of us boring humans. I think that the earlier seasons felt more researched and influenced by the Brothers Grimm fairy-tales and the later seasons didn’t feel so authentic. The atmosphere and setting are perfect, I always want to move to Portland after watching this show.

This series is based on the Lore Podcast which is a collection of folktales, myths, legends and a whole lot of history. I love it, I have already talked about it and am patiently waiting for season two to come out!

Primarily season one since that one really feels like it is set in fall and the kids are in school, the second season feels less spooky to me.

I remember being a kid and waiting for the annual Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons. One year, they had to air it super late due to a football game running long or something like that. I was so pissed, I still hate football to this day. If you haven’t seen these, sometimes they spoof popular movies like The Shining, well-known episodes of The Twilight Zone, horror books or sometimes the plots are totally original, so much fun.

I mean, duh. Does it get much better then Spooky Mulder and the ever-skeptical Agent Scully?

I just watched the episode last weekend with the face-eating serial killer and forgot how creepy this show can be!

I have a fabulous vegan soup going in the slow-cooker and can’t wait to get home to relax!

I have the DVD collections where they are all sold together but I have never looked to see if they can be purchased together online like on Amazon or something…? That’s exactly how I watch them though, back to back 😀
