Beauty Blogger Tag!

Me getting out of bed this morning, I can’t wait to come home and go back to bed. This time of year is such a chore for me, I need a career that takes a gap between December to February. I don’t know what that would be but sounds perfect. The cashier at Hobby Lobby complimented the ornaments I picked out and my response was, They are part of your Jonestown collection but what I meant was Funkytown and not the hippie compound where they drank the poisoned Kool-Aid and probably skipped decorating for Christmas. That’s how tired I am, now she’s going to go shopping for the Jonestown collection that doesn’t exist and people will think she’s nuts.

Anyway, when I was training at ULTA my first day, the gal who was training me says; So – what do you know about makeup and clearly, I wasn’t going to be all, I’m a beauty blogger *hair flip* so I just followed her around while she told me about all of the brands. On the one hand, I felt like a jerk but I also would have felt like a jerk busting out the beauty blogger bit. It’s interesting, I was watching a guru who said that if the product that she was reviewing didn’t work for someone then they could just return it and I was like – that’s so true and why am I watching you then? One person only has one skin type, one skin tone, one complexion – I totally still purchase stuff based on reviews but it’s a gamble at best because beauty products are so personal. At any rate, since I am a beauty blogger, I decided to do the Beauty Blogger Tag for a fun, easy post that I read over on Hey Sharonoox!

Well, how much time do you have? I do a double cleanse, exfoliating toner, emulsion, eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen and pore minimizing skin finisher. For night time, I also do a mild mask, peel, moisture serum and retinol.

The only product in my routine that is too potent to use everyday is a sulfur mask to clear break outs but other than that, all of what I use if OK for daily use.

With a primer, my primer of choice lately has been the Anti-Aging one from CoverFx. I like it because it has the feel of a pore filling primer but isn’t drying, it’s so nice.

Architects Daughter Regular

I double cleanse which starts with a balm or oil to dissolve all of the makeup and feels amazing on my dry skin.

I don’t love a DIY, I just feel like if I put lemons on my face that there would be serious ramifications. I put honey on my face once, it’s supposed to be super moisturizing but it mostly just got in my hair and was a mess of trouble.

Real Techniques are my absolute favorite brushes to pick up at the drugstore and they have some awesome holiday sets out right now that are totally worth it.

I guess it depends, if I am in a hurry then I prefer shimmers because you can just chuck them on and have a nice look. I tend to need to spend a little more time with matte shadows to get a nice blend, if I have the time then I love them just as much.

Architects Daughter Regular

Dewy but matte for super long-wear. That’s one complaint that I have, dewy foundations and creme products don’t seem to hold up as well as the matte products. I want to look naturally fresh-faced but I need to fake it for about 12 hours, is that so much to ask?!

Architects Daughter Regular

Shiny – gloss, creme or satin finishes, I can’t with the matte lips.

Architects Daughter Regular

Gloss or balm on the every day.

Architects Daughter Regular

Medium to full.

Hmmmm, I’ve tried most everything that is available in the US…Kylie Cosmetics but only because I walked by the new display at ULTA and it looked stunning. I don’t even know what I would try, I fee like she has a new release every other day. Let me know what you recommend if you have tried the brand.

Architects Daughter Regular

Not all of the time, 2-3 times a week at most.

Architects Daughter Regular

Foundation, I don’t even love wearing foundation so I have no explanation but I love trying new foundations.

Architects Daughter Regular

I try new skincare all of the time and usually end up regretting it. Just this past weekend, I tried the Exfolikate that everyone raves about it and it was awful. The package says that it might tingle, it burns and didn’t really do anything for me. I should stick to tried and true products but I’m a glutton for punishment.

That’s it for the Beauty Blogger Tag, if you are a self-proclaimed beauty blogger then I would love to read your responses to these questions ๐Ÿ™‚

“Me getting out of bed this morning, I canโ€™t wait to come home and go back to bed.” Hahaha omg that was literally my first thought this morning! I’m not even kidding. I’m finally in bed early tonight which is unusual for me but these early mornings have been killing me.

I shall have to do this beauty tags – I love a bit of Q&A.

100% with you – I can’t do matte lips either. Nasty lol. Nah idk matte lips just don’t suit me!

๐Ÿ˜‚ I was so annoyed when my alarm went off. I’ve been going to bed early too, so worth it.

Yes! It’s a fun tag โ˜บ๏ธ Right?! They chap my lips too, hate wearing them.

I haven’t done a tag in ages, I love reading how other people answer these things compared to what I’d say. Skin care is one of those things I keep meaning to improve but I’ve only really managed to stick to a regular daily routine for any length of time this year and in always nervous of adding a step. I try new things and my skin hates me but I still fall for it the next time I get a sample! ๐Ÿ˜†

Haha! I only got into this set routine about a year ago when my skin became really dry. Before that I could just wash and moisturize. Simpler times โ˜บ๏ธ Same! I’m a sucker for new skincare but my skin doesn’t love it ๐Ÿ˜œ It’s a fun tag, definitely recommend ๐Ÿ˜˜
