Merry First Day of Blogmas! I hope that everyone is enjoying all of the festive-themed posts so far. For tonight’s post I am sharing a peek of the Christmas decor that I have put up in my bedroom. I love the pastel shades that were popular in the 1950’s as well as the funky shapes and textures, I borrowed most of my inspiration from this era for my theme. The gold and pink garland above my bed was a Michael’s find, the tree ornaments are a hodgepodge that I have been collecting over the years and the trio of pink trees are all from Hobby Lobby. The two in front are pink mercury glass, the one in back is a pink velvet with a dusting of silver glitter.
I finally found something to put on the top of my tree that isn’t a star or an angel! I usually just don’t have anything on the top of the tree because I could never find something that I liked but I came upon these neat tree-toppers while doing a little Cyber Monday shopping and they are just what I’ve been looking for. This one is pastel mercury glass with hand-painted detail and it’s the perfect, whimsical addition to my tree. Here’s a close-up of the tree and the three sisal trees are also Hobby Lobby finds from the last couple of years.
I picked up a Nutcracker because it was pastel pink and would match my theme but I don’t think I much care for them, they are a bit creepy. The teenie sisal tree and the sequin tree are from several years ago and I don’t recall where I purchased them from. The Santa ornament is new this year from Michael’s as are the string lights and finally, some of the bits that I used to decorate my tree before they were on the tree!
I like how everything came together even if the tree is a bit on the spindly side, you just never know what you’re going to get on a blind buy from Amazon but it’s cute in its own way. I think my favorite find this season is definitely the tree-topper, it tied the tree decorations together really well. I hope you enjoyed this peek at my bedroom decor! Have you decorated already or do you wait for December to have arrived?
