I have to preface this post by saying that I have the smallest eyelids ever so halo eyes and cut-creases don’t translate very well on me but I gave it my best effort. Nicole Concilio posted a super simple gold holiday eye look on her channel and it looked stunning but totally wearable, I used a similar color scheme but tried to do the halo effect.
For the brown tones, I used both of the quads from Patrick Starrr’s first collaboration with MAC but obviously any combination of brown shadows will work. For the gold shadow, I used the tarte chrome pot in Top Yacht which is a bit on the muted gold side and I would definitely try this again with a brighter gold. I used a brown eyeliner from LA Girl and the mascara is tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes.
I skipped foundation and just used tarte Shape Tape over the Anti-Aging Primer from CoverFX which is still my favorite primer ever. I think it’s the only primer that I have used that hydrates but also minimizes the appearance of pores and texture, it’s amazing. I used the Flower Beauty blush in Peach Primrose and MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle for an all-over glow. I set everything with the Catrice Prime & Fine Multi-Talent setting spray which is still my favorite of the three setting sprays they have. I don’t have anything on my lips here but I wore a peach lip gloss on at work.
My hair is on it’s 8th week and I cannot wait to get it shaped next weekend, it grows out to this Mrs. Brady mullet and it starts to drive me nuts at like week 6 but I just don’t have the time to be in the hair salon that often. Typically, my forehead is not this exposed but whatever.
It’s a super simple eye look like I said but I did feel festive with the pop of gold and it was fun attempting to apply eyeshadow in a new way even if it didn’t totally suit my eye shape. I wish I had bigger eyelids…I hope that you are having a beautiful start to the week, if you are in the Midwest where we got some serious winter weather this weekend, be safe out there!!
