Blogmas Day 7: Eyelash Extensions, Today Was the Day

Here’s what happened, today was my long-anticipated eyelash extension appointment that I’ve been yakking in about for ages. Glamour – yes. Kardashians – who? Red carpet ready – always. Or, those are naturally the expectations one has when undergoing this type of beauty treatment. I have had eyelash extensions once before and I really liked them but they were just a treat for my graduation and I didn’t keep them up. The appointment was much as I anticipated, it took about 2 hours during which they cover your lower lashes with these little pads and you have to keep your eyes closed. It’s freaking hard to keep your eyes closed for that long when you aren’t trying to go to sleep – my left eye was being such a bitch and kept twitching. I didn’t experience any pain or discomfort until she started peeling the pads off when she was done and my eyes did sting a bit, I assume from glue but nothing to make me too concerned. I have a bit of a headache now but I’m also a bit anxious about how they look so could be totally unrelated. I honestly didn’t feel the technician doing much of anything and was surprised when she went to the second eye but the application did take a full 2 hours. I chose medium, regular volume and on a scale of 1 to Trisha Paytas…

My foundation looks nuts because she was touching my face a lot which makes sense, the last photo is my attempt at adding some eyeshadow to see if they looked more natural and that was super difficult because they are so large. Also, I’m baking and not actually that pale ๐Ÿ˜› I dunno guys, I don’t recall them being this in your face when I first had them done but maybe as some drop they will look more normal and less crazy? I think she did an amazing job, I just wasn’t expecting them to be so dramatic! I will share an update in a couple of weeks when I have played with some more eye looks and gotten used to them. Also, I got my nails dip powdered and I love how they turned out.

Be honest – do they look crazy? Not too honest though because I can’t cry for at least another 24 hours ๐Ÿ˜› Have you tried lash extensions, are they just shocking at first. Side note, I have to go to work like this…

I use to get them but they started costing too much. I was getting fills too often because my natural lashes were horrible but I wanted them full. Iโ€™m better with the strips as of right now. Lash extensions are sooo convenient though.

They are crazy expensive, I really had to talk myself into having them done and can’t say for sure if I’ll keep them up. I can see how they can become addicting, I’m terrible with lash strips but they sure are more wallet friendly โ˜บ๏ธ
