    Friday Favourites

Another Friday, another evening of CSI Las Vegas – I am too deep in the series to tap out now. I really liked the Gil and Sara relationship even though we didn’t see a lot of it, I was devastated when they weren’t together anymore. Clearly, so was Sara seeing as how she ended up with a rando in hotel and the center of a murder investigation. Oops. I am not there yet, but I know that it’s coming. If your Friday is slated to be as exciting as mine, here’s a little reading material for you πŸ˜› Going to Blockbuster was a huge deal when I was a kid…

    Dare Me: A Review

Have you ever read a book that left you wondering what the heck it was about and what the point of all that was? That is pretty much how I was left feeling after finishing Megan Abbott’s cheerleader noir (her words, not mine) Dare Me. I have to admit that I am generally a little put off by novels that are about teenagers because they seem wildly unrealistic and overly-salacious, this was no exception. The focus of the story is mainly the bizarre relationship between a cheerleading coach and her squad. Addy, apparently the team lieutenant and Beth, the captain find themselves in a weird friend/enemy triangle with the new…

    Wednesday Wisdom – Daria Edition

After my post yesterday on all of the cool programming that MTV used to offer, I decided to watch a little Daria last night! I guess that most of these could not be described as ‘wisdom’ but more just commentary on life, enjoy a little teenage angst to get you through your mid-week! I hope that you are having a beautiful day, thanks for stopping by <3

Top Ten Tuesday – MTV When it Was Cool

It’s funny that the only channel that I wanted to watch as a kid, and couldn’t was MTV. Now that I can watch whatever I want with impunity, I never watch it until the other night when I clicked it on and thought, What the shit is this?! What happened to MTV?! All of the reality TV shows were becoming popular at the end of my youth (aside from Real World) and I recall watching MTV for actual music programming or mature cartoons, I think they need to bring some of these classics back. Admittedly, I was a bit young for the original series but did tune in religiously for…

The Last Time I Lied: A Review

Spoilers ahead! I did it, I blazed through my BOTM pick for the month and I am almost a little bummed about it because they haven’t had much of an interesting selection these past few months. I chose The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager, I mostly liked his first book under this pseudonym,Β Final Girls and did a review on it here if you are interested! His second offering is a departure from the cheesecake horror genre which surprised me since the setting is at a summer camp a la Camp Crystal Lake and I was expecting somebody to get slashed. Emma Davis finds herself back at Camp Nightingale…

    Friday Favourites

Another Friday, another hot weekend ahead. I have no idea what I am doing this weekend, probably anything that can be done inside. First on the agenda is to get through my new BOTM book whose author is mired in a bit of drama at the moment. Riley Sager wrote a decent first thriller with Final Girls and I am just about to start The Last Time I Lied that has the same cabin in the woods thriller vibe. Apparently, Riley is a pen name for Todd Ritter but I guess I never think of an author’s gender when it comes to fiction books. Call it bizarre, call it idiotic,…

    No Phone Challenge

Sounds nuts, right? It probably is and this may or may not be the worst idea ever but I am going to go phone-free for the next week. Reason being is that it is just a huge distraction right now with people sending me messages, getting into time consuming text conversations, aimlessly scrolling because I am bored or sad, and overall just wasting time. I feel like I can’t unplug because of the constant notifications sucking me back in. I decided to Google some info to see if going cell-phone free was a viable option and read this encouraging article that convinced me to give it go. So, it’s off…

    Decor Inspo – Bohemian Bedroom

Ladies and gentlemen, if I can recommend one thing that one should absolutely not do after a broken relationship, it is revisit your wedding board on Pinterest. I don’t know what in the name of Samhain possessed me but there I was, bawling like a baby over my imaginary, beautiful wedding (really, it was going to be stunning). Honestly. The reason that I was on Pinterest is because I thought I was going to give my room a Bohemian, minimalist makeover with lots of pillows, low-profile bed, plush blankets, lots of beige – something got lost in translation. I don’t know if I just don’t like how low the bed…

Top Ten Tuesday – Reasons to be Happy

Ah yes, it is one of those posts because I am having a hard time finding reasons to be happy at the moment. I actually saw something on Instagram about destination fixation; thinking that our lives would be so much better somewhere else, with someone someone else, doing something else. A person can dream all they want, there isn’t anything wrong with wanting a better life but I think that humans can lose sight of what we have in our life right now that makes it wonderful. These are of course relative to my perception and what makes me happy but here’s hoping that you find your own happiness too…

Living Room Decor Refresh ft. IKEA

Well, I survived my trip to IKEA this weekend and most everything that I wanted was in stock aside from two shelves that I had to order. I decided that I wanted the apartment to look totally different so I went with an Andy Warhol Hallucination motif which is working for me. Some of the stuff I already owned and was using in the bedroom but I am redoing that room as well and decided that some of the items would work with my motif. Here’s a little peek at what I purchased: The couch is not new and in fact, this couch has go to go. The new additions…
