    Blogmas Day 8: Slay Ride

I may or may not have been patiently sitting in my car sipping coffee waiting for ULTA to open so that I could snag the PatrickStarrr x MAC holiday collection. I’m glad I went the day of the release though because MAC did not send a lot of stock to the ULTA locations, they only had a couple of each item. I skipped on the lipsticks because my lips have been crusty AF but there are some lovely shades in this collection. I snagged a Lip Glass, Patty Powder and both of the palettes – we are doing holiday themed looks at work and here is what I came up…

Blogmas Day 7: Eyelash Extensions, Today Was the Day

Here’s what happened, today was my long-anticipated eyelash extension appointment that I’ve been yakking in about for ages. Glamour – yes. Kardashians – who? Red carpet ready – always. Or, those are naturally the expectations one has when undergoing this type of beauty treatment. I have had eyelash extensions once before and I really liked them but they were just a treat for my graduation and I didn’t keep them up. The appointment was much as I anticipated, it took about 2 hours during which they cover your lower lashes with these little pads and you have to keep your eyes closed. It’s freaking hard to keep your eyes closed…

Blogmas Day 6: The Grinch List

Clearly, I’m a fan of Christmas – I’m doing the Blogmas thing, I put up two (count ’em) trees, I’ve been making lists, wrapping gifts but there are some holiday related things that will absolutely kill my mood. I get that we all have traditions and some have endured decades but I honestly don’t understand how these have become ingrained in modern-day Christmas celebrations… Gag. This yuletide treat of cholesterol in a cup originated across the pond but fell out of fashion when the two-pounds of sugar and three-dozen eggs that were required to make it became scarce. Since the shortage did not extend to the New World, Americans embraced…

Blogmas Day 5: Christmas Tag Part Three

You guys, I finally did it – I am treating myself to eyelash extensions and while I have done it once before I’m still scared that my eyelashes are going to fall out! As soon as I scheduled the appointment, I started watching videos of horrific experiences because I just love doing things like that. I’m actually really stressed out about not being able to cry for 48-hours, I’m not much of a crier but watch this be the weekend that I start being one 😀 I’ll be sure to share my experience, unless I go bald then I won’t but also, I probably will. I generally enjoy most carols…

Blogmas Day 4: Christmas Tag Part Two

Fa-la-la-la-la-la–la–la–la! So, I am trying out this snowflake animation plugin and I don’t know if I love it or not. I’m going to try out some other designs and see if I like it better but let me know if it’s distracting – here is part two of the Christmas Tag that I started yesterday! Do my cats count 😛 Christmas hasn’t ever been that big of a deal to me, I enjoy the entire season – I like the decorations and music, it isn’t just one day for me. Which doesn’t answer the question at all but I like to be the person who makes the day special. Probably…

Blogmas Day 3: Christmas Tag Part One

I love when I am just walking through the parking lot, minding my own business but also heckling people about sitting in their running cars and wasting fossil fuels when I almost eat it on the ice. Like, I know the ground is slick but it catches me by surprise every year even when I am wearing my new moon boots that are supposed to prevent me from falling on the ice. Like, why forsake fashion for functionality when it doesn’t matter?! Anyway, I read this tag over on Root Report, I am breaking it up into three parts since it is a bit long – enjoy! Not that I…

Blogmas Day 2: Holiday Halo Eye

I have to preface this post by saying that I have the smallest eyelids ever so halo eyes and cut-creases don’t translate very well on me but I gave it my best effort. Nicole Concilio posted a super simple gold holiday eye look on her channel and it looked stunning but totally wearable, I used a similar color scheme but tried to do the halo effect. For the brown tones, I used both of the quads from Patrick Starrr’s first collaboration with MAC but obviously any combination of brown shadows will work. For the gold shadow, I used the tarte chrome pot in Top Yacht  which is a bit on…

Blogmas Day 1: Christmas Bedroom Decor

Merry First Day of Blogmas! I hope that everyone is enjoying all of the festive-themed posts so far. For tonight’s post I am sharing a peek of the Christmas decor that I have put up in my bedroom. I love the pastel shades that were popular in the 1950’s as well as the funky shapes and textures, I borrowed most of my inspiration from this era for my theme. The gold and pink garland above my bed was a Michael’s find, the tree ornaments are a hodgepodge that I have been collecting over the years and the trio of pink trees are all from Hobby Lobby. The two in front…

    Blogmas Kick-Off: Beauty Advent Calendars

I clearly cannot contain myself anymore so I am kicking off Blogmas a day early because I just want to talk about all things Christmas. Now watch, by like December 22nd I will be tearing down the tree and tapping out but we’re starting strong 🙂 I feel like Blogmas is somewhat of a blog advent calendar since you post each day up to the 25th so what better way to kick it off than with a round-up of some seriously stunning beauty advent calendars? Unfortunately, many of these are not available in the US so I won’t have prices for all of them but a girl can dream! There…

    Blogmas Day: 12

Oh, to be a kid again and have 2 glorious weeks off from school to read. I think this is what I miss most about being a carefree adolescent – the endless time to read. I spent most of my breaks reading countless books, well after everyone else had gone to bed and enjoying the peace and solitude. My fondest memories of winter break are when we spent time in a 3 bedroom cabin up Stoner Creek, Colorado. We had these enormous bay windows that looked out onto the creek and a rickety, one lane bridge that provided access to the farmhouse on the other side. We always got fantastic…
