Top Ten Tuesday – Binge Worthy Television

Top Ten Tuesday is a Reddit classic but usually pretty specific to music, I will just be talking about whatever I want in this series; could be beauty, music, books, clothing – you get the idea. Today’s top ten will be my most binged shows and ones that I feel are worth your time (and emotional) commitment. Gilmore Girls – Of course this show was everything when I was a tween and then heading to college but I took a chance on a re-watch this winter and it is still just as good as it was then. It is the perfect mix of idyllic fantasy and reality, there’s a lot of…

    Stranger Things Tag!

If you don’t know, which you probably do given the amount of times that I have mentioned it, I am a huge fan of the Netflix series Stranger Things. Season one is definitely my fave, I think that the story line gets a little messy in the second season but it’s still pretty great. The BF rags on the show because of how much of the content appears to be lifted from various popular movies and shows from the 70’s and 80’s and I think that this contributes to why I like it – it feels like something from my childhood. Alleged plagiarism aside, I am anxiously awaiting season three…

    Current Youtube Short List

I was going to post my ULTA haul but my ULTA has a commitment to putting product in the wrong spot and I came home with two products in the wrong shade. I could check the product before I leave and that would save me a lot of time but I forget and not to mention I feel like I just posted a haul and I don’t know how interesting they are…? I was surfing Youtube today on my lunch after not having been on there for ages aside from watching Adobe tutorials and I did a clear out of gurus who I find vapid and uninspiring. Rather than list…

    Current Reads

I am sitting here, not so patiently waiting on my new Audible credit to come through. Audible is the only subscription service I have that doesn’t process at midnight and it drives me nuts! I will purchase credits before my subscription renews but I thought I could wait it out this time – I’m a liar, liar pants on fire. I am a fan of audio-books because you can be doing just about anything while you are listening to them. Cooking, cleaning, eating, sometimes driving – I say sometimes because there are a few books I wouldn’t recommend half-focusing on while trying to drive. Before I dive into my next…

    Five Friday Thoughts

Or literally any bargain food brand, I don’t know what I was thinking when I got my first kitten and decided that she needed grain free, free-range, organic, blah, blah, blah, food. The brand that I purchase is not only ridiculously spendy but it never goes on sale! Meanwhile, Fancy Feast is on BOGO this weekend. Honestly, cats. Sunburn and I gotta’ say that it is dark, she has written some of my fave books and some of them were pretty dark but this is on another level. I am only 15 or so chapters in and I cannot think of a more vile, depressing book that I have read.…

    5 Movies I’ve Never Seen

I have been on a YouTube cleanse, meaning I consciously unplugged from watching it because drama. I feel that everyone just runs a drama channel these days, I don’t need fake drama – I can watch the fucking news. Although, slow clap for Kim Jong Un for being willing to talk about relinquishing nuclear weapons (still a fascist). I mean, how is it that such a tyrant is less of a demagogue than The 45!? Anyway, I think it’s hysterical that Tati, who has vlogged her Botox procedures releases a dietary supplement for skin, hair and nails. I mean, I feel that she could have guessed that there would be some…

What I Am Listening To – Chimes of Freedom

I purchased the Chimes of Freedom 50th Anniversary Amnesty International album as soon as it was released back in 2012. I am a huge Bob Dylan fan, this album is a mix of his most iconic songs and the proceeds go to the human rights organization, Amnesty International. Now, I am not a fan of reboots, remixes, reinterpretations, re-releases, you get the idea and I thought that most of these modern artists would miss the mark. I have been pleasantly surprised and this album remains one of my favourites to listen to on any occasion. I was really shocked that I enjoyed songs by some artists that I had never…

    Fave Rom-Com Leading Gents

We all knew this was coming, right?  I am just in a V-day mood, we busted out the decor this weekend and even though we don’t actually celebrate the holiday I re-watched all of my favourite movies. Admittedly, this list is a bit shorter but it seems that men don’t often reprise these types of roles like the ladies do but here they are! Tom Hanks – He is a legit American treasure, only someone so pure and kind could make you bawl your eyes out when a 13 year old boy and middle-aged woman’s relationship comes to a bitter end. I mean, the whole premise of that relationship in Big…

Blue Monday Reading List – Nordic Noir

It is Martin Luther King Jr. Day in America today, it has me in a brooding mood. What an inspiring individual, society doesn’t make ’em like that anymore. He embodied such humility, class, intelligence, empathy, patience, respect – I cannot name a single public figure currently who could even share a podium with him. It’s pathetic, really. Anyway, he is one of the many Americans who makes me proud to be one too and inspires me to do a little better each day. While Blue Monday isn’t rooted in any scientific bedrock, I think there is a palpable feeling of melancholy in the months leading up to Spring. I personally…

31 Nights of Horror – The Hitcher

This movie is relentless and kinda’ hard to watch as it just goes on and on with no end in sight. Jim Halsey is on a cross-country trek to San Diego when he picks up a hitchhiker in a torrential downpour. The hitcher, John Ryder, isn’t the friendliest guy and starts to say odd things and claims that he killed the driver of an abandoned car that they pass. Jim starts to worry that he has made a mistake and takes the opportunity to shove John out of the car. It seems as though Jim has dodged a bullet but he is soon overtaken by a car with a family…
