    Friday Favorites

Another Friday, another round-up of tidbits from around the web. Enjoy! I never knew that the fashion industry was so salacious, it is hard to see past the glitz and wonder what is happening behind the scenes. I will have to read this book to find out more, I guess it shouldn’t come as any surprise that someone is being exploited in such an opulent industry. I actually read something similar many years ago and always laugh at the poor fools frantically pushing the ‘Walk’ buttons 😀 My question is though, why waste the money to install buttons that are just for show? Seems silly and very American. Also, what…

Top Ten Tuesday – Back to School Flicks

Driving to work today, I saw many a kid standing on the corner looking like someone had snatched their youth. Then, traffic was bumper to bumper and I realized that today was the first day back to school. Woot, woot. Which doesn’t really impact me but now that the kids are back in school maybe there will be less vandalism in the parks, just sayin’. But honestly, what is the point of burning down a port-a-potty?! Anyway, if you, like me do not have to go to bed early because you are in the prime of your adulthood – here are some movies to enjoy on this first day back…

    Friday Favourites

It’s Friday, I cannot wait to go home and go to sleep for like 10 hours. I was having a pedicure with a friend and was telling her how exhausted I was for seemingly no reason, I don’t have a lot of work stress, I don’t have any kids, I don’t really take care of anyone, I literally have no reason to be tired. She says; Well – Mercury is in retrograde and you’re so sensitive. We aren’t friends anymore. Not really but I don’t get the whole zodiac/horoscope/moon phase thing (or if any of those are related, if not, please excuse my ignorance) – I have nothing against it,…

    What I’m Reading

Mother Nature has blessed us with an anomaly in the middle of this heat wave, it’s been rainy and 60 degrees which is perfect reading weather. I mean, I read in any kind of weather but some days I just feel obligated to come home, light some candles and read a book. I have a few books going at the moment, I tend to read different books at work than I do at home so I usually have a couple going simultaneously – does anyone else do this? A total random find, I picked up this adult horror novel by the one and only RL Stine a few weeks ago…

Top Ten Tuesday – Binge Worthy Television

Top Ten Tuesday is a Reddit classic but usually pretty specific to music, I will just be talking about whatever I want in this series; could be beauty, music, books, clothing – you get the idea. Today’s top ten will be my most binged shows and ones that I feel are worth your time (and emotional) commitment. Gilmore Girls – Of course this show was everything when I was a tween and then heading to college but I took a chance on a re-watch this winter and it is still just as good as it was then. It is the perfect mix of idyllic fantasy and reality, there’s a lot of…

    Stranger Things Tag!

If you don’t know, which you probably do given the amount of times that I have mentioned it, I am a huge fan of the Netflix series Stranger Things. Season one is definitely my fave, I think that the story line gets a little messy in the second season but it’s still pretty great. The BF rags on the show because of how much of the content appears to be lifted from various popular movies and shows from the 70’s and 80’s and I think that this contributes to why I like it – it feels like something from my childhood. Alleged plagiarism aside, I am anxiously awaiting season three…

    Current Youtube Short List

I was going to post my ULTA haul but my ULTA has a commitment to putting product in the wrong spot and I came home with two products in the wrong shade. I could check the product before I leave and that would save me a lot of time but I forget and not to mention I feel like I just posted a haul and I don’t know how interesting they are…? I was surfing Youtube today on my lunch after not having been on there for ages aside from watching Adobe tutorials and I did a clear out of gurus who I find vapid and uninspiring. Rather than list…

    Current Reads

I am sitting here, not so patiently waiting on my new Audible credit to come through. Audible is the only subscription service I have that doesn’t process at midnight and it drives me nuts! I will purchase credits before my subscription renews but I thought I could wait it out this time – I’m a liar, liar pants on fire. I am a fan of audio-books because you can be doing just about anything while you are listening to them. Cooking, cleaning, eating, sometimes driving – I say sometimes because there are a few books I wouldn’t recommend half-focusing on while trying to drive. Before I dive into my next…

    Five Friday Thoughts

Or literally any bargain food brand, I don’t know what I was thinking when I got my first kitten and decided that she needed grain free, free-range, organic, blah, blah, blah, food. The brand that I purchase is not only ridiculously spendy but it never goes on sale! Meanwhile, Fancy Feast is on BOGO this weekend. Honestly, cats. Sunburn and I gotta’ say that it is dark, she has written some of my fave books and some of them were pretty dark but this is on another level. I am only 15 or so chapters in and I cannot think of a more vile, depressing book that I have read.…

    5 Movies I’ve Never Seen

I have been on a YouTube cleanse, meaning I consciously unplugged from watching it because drama. I feel that everyone just runs a drama channel these days, I don’t need fake drama – I can watch the fucking news. Although, slow clap for Kim Jong Un for being willing to talk about relinquishing nuclear weapons (still a fascist). I mean, how is it that such a tyrant is less of a demagogue than The 45!? Anyway, I think it’s hysterical that Tati, who has vlogged her Botox procedures releases a dietary supplement for skin, hair and nails. I mean, I feel that she could have guessed that there would be some…
