Monday Must Have – Lash Tonic

Ah, Monday – the fascist dictator of the week, so terrible that it even ruins part of Sunday. Today’s must have product is DHC’s Eyelash Tonic that I have been using for some time now, I picked it up when I started wearing false lashes more frequently and it has become a part of my evening routine. This tonic claims to strengthen and condition lashes so that they not only appear fuller but are overall healthier. It is formulated with a number of botanicals, aloe, ginseng root extract and olive leaf extract. I tend to be drawn to olive products because they are really good for the skin/hair and I…

    Pan It – Update

I am going through old posts and cleaning them up or deleting them *gasp* which is apparently frowned upon because it’s not authentic but I just wanted to do a bit of a clean out. I thought that it would be fun to link back to some super old posts that I don’t think anyone would stumble upon at this point (honestly, how far does one look back through archives) and give a little update. I have to say that if I didn’t understand the importance of good lighting 2 years ago, I certainly do now 😛 Today I am going back in the archives to this gem, excuse the…

Chi for ULTA – First Impressions

It finally happened, I purchased a new blow dryer. The low cycle on my current model stopped working so I was having to dry my hair on high which sounded like a jet engine and made my hair way too fluffy. I also decided to purchase a new flat iron because they had a matching one due to the fact that my current one was making a crackling noise when I used it. There are noises that one’s electronic devices should not make, crackling is one of them. Both of these appliances were cheap and I realized that with all of the money that I am spending on replacing cheaper…

First Impression Friday – New Hair!

This isn’t a real first impression because I got my hair cut last week but it is still new to me. A little back story, recently my stylist and I parted ways – the same stylist had been cutting my hair for almost 6 years. He worked at one of those spa-lon establishments, I was paying over $100 for a haircut (before tip) and usually not even a haircut, a trim at most. He was promoted to a master stylist in the last couple of years which was great for him but at that point the cost of my services went up and in my opinion, his customer service dipped. I…

    For the Love of Pixies

Alright ladies, (and gentleman) I am having a hair dilemma. I am at that stage where it feels frumpy and too long and usually what I do at this point is just cut it all off into a pixie and start again. Seems drastic but I love a pixie, so low-maintenance and they look effortlessly chic but I also think they make me look older than I am – plus the grow out can be a major pain in the ass. I have been through it enough times with my stylist that he knows what cut I like for ease of growing it out when I want to. Not to…

Product of The Week – Eva NYC

My foundation is literally crumbling off my face – like any foundation that I have tried in the last few months and it is driving me insane! I know that I mentioned before that my dermatologist was telling me that my skin has been very dry and this could be a result of second puberty. Yea – it’s a thing but don’t believe everything you read on reddit. As women we get to look forward to first puberty, second puberty and menopause so pretty much a decade of just bullshit. When do I get to go through Kylie Jenner puberty? I mean honestly, all I got was dry skin. It could…

Product of the Week – OGX

Well, summer is here – ding, dong – fashion is dead. I’m sorry – I hate summer. I don’t like the clothes that I have to wear, I don’t like what it does to my hair, I don’t like humidity. I just don’t like it, unpopular opinion. Anyway, I don’t think my baby kitty (Neptune) wanted me to go to work this morning. (Look at those teenie claws poking my vegan leather). You and me both, I am the opposite of what biology says I should be with sleeping patterns and seasons. I can be up by 5 no problem in the winter and awake until at least 10 but come summer,…

    Talk Greek to Me

I was in Walgreens this weekend and all of the new Hask products were on BOGO. They have 5 new dry shampoos that I wanted to try, I walked away with 2 and a few of their Greek Yogurt line. I enjoy Hask products, they use fabulous ingredients and they tend to work well with my hair. Greek yogurt is also wonderful for hydration, it works well on skin and I was curious to see what it would do for my hair. I picked up some of the Fig & Honey products, the first product I tested is the Hydrating Deep Conditioner mask and it is lovely! You get a…

    Miscellaneous Thoughts on Underwear

So Friday night I rushed home to get the place spick and span, laundry done, carpets vacuumed, dusting, etc which are usually Saturday activities but I had a new book arriving on Saturday! Indeed, I cleared my weekend for a new book and it was so worth it. The series that I am reading has already been released and is being translated into English – at least I don’t have too terribly long to wait for the next one! In other news, I really, really hate having to buy new underwear – I find it terribly embarrassing. If you buy it online then you have to look at women actually…
