    Halloween Decor Haul!

I had today off for the sole purpose of finishing my shopping for Halloween decor. I wanted to be out early and home early because I can’t be bothered with people, so I am driving around at 6 AM and realized that the only stores open that early are grocery stores, Walmart and pharmacies. I haven’t been going into Walmart, I blogged about that a while ago because I just don’t love supporting them. I sucked it up and found some really cute things, I hope that my $34 goes to a good cause. Next stop was Target which didn’t have their Halloween stuff out even though their website said…

    Fall Decor Mood Board

I was just perusing Pinterst when I came upon this article from Elle entitled; Outdated Home Trends We Hope May Never Come Back. And I’m like; That’s my entire apartment you whore. Someone’s personal style can be trendy without being driven by temporary trends – it’s called style, read a Vogue. Anyway, I have a four-day weekend for the simple reason that I just don’t want to be at work having to be nice to people. I feel that’s a good enough reason. My only agenda is to scope out every homeware store in a 40 mile radius and get some fall decor. By fall, I mean Halloween because I already…

    Fall Fragrance Haul

I didn’t post on Friday because I had strep throat and by the time I woke up from my coma, it was already Saturday. I hate strep but Rod Stewart was in Minneapolis and had to cancel his concert because I heard on the radio that he had strep and I’m not saying there’s a connection but I felt pretty rock ‘n roll and there’s definitely a connection 😛 So, after my 72 hour quarantine I had to go to Bath & Body Works because I had a coupon and they have all of their fall scents out! I have wanted to try these forever but figured it would be…

    Bedroom Decor Refresh

The Boho Chic makeover is complete, or at least to the point that I am actually loving it without having gone overboard. I had plans for more wall art but it’s funny how small a room can feel once you get it filled with new things and I am holding off for now. Here’s a peek at my little sanctuary, enjoy <3 I went with a low-profile, metal frame that I found on Amazon and I am loving it. I didn’t want something that took up a lot of wall space but I wasn’t loving the mattress being directly on the floor, this definitely did the trick. The moon phase…

    Decor Inspo – Bohemian Bedroom

Ladies and gentlemen, if I can recommend one thing that one should absolutely not do after a broken relationship, it is revisit your wedding board on Pinterest. I don’t know what in the name of Samhain possessed me but there I was, bawling like a baby over my imaginary, beautiful wedding (really, it was going to be stunning). Honestly. The reason that I was on Pinterest is because I thought I was going to give my room a Bohemian, minimalist makeover with lots of pillows, low-profile bed, plush blankets, lots of beige – something got lost in translation. I don’t know if I just don’t like how low the bed…

Living Room Decor Refresh ft. IKEA

Well, I survived my trip to IKEA this weekend and most everything that I wanted was in stock aside from two shelves that I had to order. I decided that I wanted the apartment to look totally different so I went with an Andy Warhol Hallucination motif which is working for me. Some of the stuff I already owned and was using in the bedroom but I am redoing that room as well and decided that some of the items would work with my motif. Here’s a little peek at what I purchased: The couch is not new and in fact, this couch has go to go. The new additions…

    Kitchen Tour

So, you guys want to see my kitchen? Cool, because I literally have nothing else to talk about tonight and I just cleaned the shit out of it. Can I really  call it a tour if it’s only 50 square feet of space? I love my kitchen, it’s not to everyone’s taste – very flea market chic, heavy on the kitsch but I like it. I don’t like how modern it is, my dream is to a) own a well-maintained home that was built in 50’s or b) build a customized replica. The colours and shapes from that era appeal to me for some reason, I have been feeling the…

    Kitchen Haul Round Two

Minnesota is stuck in a perpetual winter, I am into it – I just realized how often one discusses the weather in the mid-west. I don’t recall ever having cared about what the weather was doing in my youth but maybe that’s just kids. Now, you could literally be talking about anything else and somehow you will land on the 10 day forecast which we all know is criminally inaccurate but we’re still going to talk about it. Being in your 30’s is lame. Apparently, Amazon is delivering my packages in 2’s and again – I could just wait until everything arrives but where is the fun in that? I…

    Fun Kitchen Finds

We are due for snow this evening and it’s slated to be the coldest Easter in the last 10 years but my kitchen is feeling decidedly Spring-like. Yes, I did make a trek to Wal-Mart this morning and yes, I feel like a jerk so judge away.  It’s a nightmare trying to find anything in stores that big but I did manage to find a few Pioneer Woman finds and they are perfect. The store in my area didn’t have a ton of stuff but what they did have was of good quality, I did place an Amazon order as well and am excited for that to get here. In the…

    Easter Decor Inspo!

It doesn’t feel very spring-like here with 5-7 inches of snow on the way but I was poking around in Bath and Body Works this weekend and looking at their spring candles. I didn’t purchase any because I am just not ready. I just realized that prior to moving to MN, I never talked about the weather – maybe I did but certainly not as obsessively as I do now that I live here. I can’t lie, I don’t like Easter, I don’t even like spring and I think it’s because of the pastels and allergies. Mostly allergies…or is it the pastels? I think this is the first year that…
