Best of September, Halloween Decor & 31 Nights of Horror!

You guys, flu season just started, actually I don’t even know if it that’s true but I’ve already contracted strep and now I have the flu within the scope of a month. I’m so pissed, I tend to make it through flu season unscathed, this better not be a prelude for the rest of the year. I have missed two days of blogging due to feeling like death so am just throwing a bunch of stuff into this post that I had planned for the last couple of days of September. I only have a few items that I would consider Best Of’s for this month and very few empties…

    Friday Favorites

Another Friday, another round-up of tidbits from around the web. Enjoy! I never knew that the fashion industry was so salacious, it is hard to see past the glitz and wonder what is happening behind the scenes. I will have to read this book to find out more, I guess it shouldn’t come as any surprise that someone is being exploited in such an opulent industry. I actually read something similar many years ago and always laugh at the poor fools frantically pushing the ‘Walk’ buttons πŸ˜€ My question is though, why waste the money to install buttons that are just for show? Seems silly and very American. Also, what…

    Best of August

Everyone around me seems to be surprised at how quickly this year is passing and I am over here like; Is it Halloween yet? I just love this time of year, I know that spring time is traditionally considered the rebirth of life and new beginnings but for me, it’s fall. I think it’s a lot to do with the back to school season and feeling like you are embarking on something new. It’s always felt like a season of transition for me and I look forward to that feeling every year. Here’s a peek at what I was loving this last month of summer! aromatica Rosemary Refresh Toner –…

    Friday Favourites

I’m stuck inside on a Friday night because severe weather, good thing I have 900 candles on hand othat I should probably start lighting now just in case. Before the power or internet goes out, here’s a little reading material! Unpopular opinion – I never understood why people were so enamored with Steve Jobs like there wasn’t a whole team of brainy people backing him up. This article solidifies my less than glowing sentiments. I am sick and tired of hearing about climate change, I am tired of reading study after study about how it’s only getting worse. Someone needs to get serious about climate change, start taking away some…

    Friday Favourites

Another Friday, another evening of CSI Las Vegas – I am too deep in the series to tap out now. I really liked the Gil and Sara relationship even though we didn’t see a lot of it, I was devastated when they weren’t together anymore. Clearly, so was Sara seeing as how she ended up with a rando in hotel and the center of a murder investigation. Oops. I am not there yet, but I know that it’s coming. If your Friday is slated to be as exciting as mine, here’s a little reading material for you πŸ˜› Going to Blockbuster was a huge deal when I was a kid…

    Wednesday Wisdom – Daria Edition

After my post yesterday on all of the cool programming that MTV used to offer, I decided to watch a little Daria last night! I guess that most of these could not be described as ‘wisdom’ but more just commentary on life, enjoy a little teenage angst to get you through your mid-week! I hope that you are having a beautiful day, thanks for stopping by <3

    Friday Favourites

Another Friday, another hot weekend ahead. I have no idea what I am doing this weekend, probably anything that can be done inside. First on the agenda is to get through my new BOTM book whose author is mired in a bit of drama at the moment. Riley Sager wrote a decent first thriller with Final Girls and I am just about to start The Last Time I Lied that has the same cabin in the woods thriller vibe. Apparently, Riley is a pen name for Todd Ritter but I guess I never think of an author’s gender when it comes to fiction books. Call it bizarre, call it idiotic,…

    No Phone Challenge

Sounds nuts, right? It probably is and this may or may not be the worst idea ever but I am going to go phone-free for the next week. Reason being is that it is just a huge distraction right now with people sending me messages, getting into time consuming text conversations, aimlessly scrolling because I am bored or sad, and overall just wasting time. I feel like I can’t unplug because of the constant notifications sucking me back in. I decided to Google some info to see if going cell-phone free was a viable option and read this encouraging article that convinced me to give it go. So, it’s off…

    Friday Favourites

It’s Friday, thank goodness – if there is anything that I love about the 9-5, it is definitely weekends off. I also had more fun working retail so I guess that there are trade offs but I am ready for the weekend. Friday Favourites are going to be posts where I round up some articles, recipes and other tidbits from around the web that I found particularly enjoyable or thought-provoking, let’s get started! This article on the origin of high-heels didn’t surprise me because I grew up with a mom who wore cowboy boots as fancy dress and when you think about it, they were originally created for cowboys! I…

    #wednesdaywisdom

Happy 4th of July if you are in the states, sadly, the fireworks have been cancelled in my city as we are in a severe thunderstorm warning. I cannot recall the last time that it rained on the 4th but it’s bound to happen some years. Here are a collection of quotes on freedom to celebrate: Enjoy the rest of your week – thanks for stopping by <3
