Blogtober Day: XXII – The Problem With Fake Reviews

This isn’t a fall related post but I think it’s an important discussion since I talk about brand transparency and being a smart consumer on my blog and wanted to share my thoughts on the Sunday Riley instructing employees to post fake reviews as part of their job debacle. If you haven’t read the email that was sent out to employees, it was shared by a former employee who posted it in a subreddit and you can check it out here. Sephora Insider Event: A Rant

So, I’m at a point where I only shop at Sephora two times a year during the VIB events. I spend enough between the two sales so that I can keep my Rouge status because that 20% coupon is worth it to me. I think that it’s a great opportunity to stock up on products that never go on sale. I think it is supposed to be marketed to kids but I thought it was cool, I was a lame little kid – I am a proud, lame adult. I don’t have an August sub-box yet but I did cash is some points at Sephora recently on a few new rewards. It’s like I curated my own sample box – they have some good 100 point rewards if you have points that you have been…

    VIB Sale Pick-Ups

Eek! The Crown premiered last night as an original series and I am hooked – the costumes are gorgeous. I think they might even put Downton Abbey to shame, a tall order. Plus the cast, I am in love. Netflix is really upping their original series game and as someone who does not have cable (because it is outrageous) I can definitely appreciate this! In other news, obviously Election Day is (almost) upon us and I just have to say that it makes me smile to see all of the folks turning up here at City Hall to get their votes in. Regardless of who you are voting for or…
