    Three Months of Halo Kiwi

I have to preface this post with stating that I was very skeptical of Tati releasing skincare vitamins, not because she doesn’t have amazing skin but she has also talked openly about how she managed her acne through antibiotics, botox plus she uses a ton of expensive skincare and other beauty treatments. There’s obviously a lot more going into her skincare regiment than supplements and I skipped on her first product because it was crazy expensive and I already take a cocktail of supplements for my skin but the Kiwi Seed Skin Booster intrigued me. What interested me the most is that it claims to inhibit bacteria growth, I only…

Blogtober Day: XXII – The Problem With Fake Reviews

This isn’t a fall related post but I think it’s an important discussion since I talk about brand transparency and being a smart consumer on my blog and wanted to share my thoughts on the Sunday Riley instructing employees to post fake reviews as part of their job debacle. If you haven’t read the email that was sent out to employees, it was shared by a former employee who posted it in a subreddit and you can check it out here. There’s a lot in this email that irritates me; not only were employees told to post reviews about SR products, they were also told to post fake reviews about…

Beauty Insider Appreciation Event – What Did I End up With?

I know that not everyone finds haul posts very interesting, I have tried everything at least once so I will give a mini review as well but will definitely revisit these products at a later date with more info. Did I stick to my list? Yes and no, I did skip on some things and chose a few based on guru recommendations, here’s what I came home with! Most of my purchases were skincare, these kinds of sales are a great opportunity to snag some products that never go on sale. I chose two products from belif because I hadn’t tried the brand before and their products are rumored to…

    August Trash Talk

Before we get into the beauty trash – is anyone using the Gutenberg Editor and liking it?  I don’t get it, the blocks don’t make sense to me and I just feel like I have to do a lot of clicking to insert content and the spacing comes out wonky – I just don’t like it. I’m generally pretty accepting of updates and new apps but this one has been a struggle and I went back to the Classic Editor. Am I just getting old? Is this the first sign that I am no longer able to learn new technology?! Technology-schmechnology. We are literally inundated with more technology than we…

    Best of August

Everyone around me seems to be surprised at how quickly this year is passing and I am over here like; Is it Halloween yet? I just love this time of year, I know that spring time is traditionally considered the rebirth of life and new beginnings but for me, it’s fall. I think it’s a lot to do with the back to school season and feeling like you are embarking on something new. It’s always felt like a season of transition for me and I look forward to that feeling every year. Here’s a peek at what I was loving this last month of summer! aromatica Rosemary Refresh Toner –…

A Super-Duper Boring Just the Essentials ULTA Haul

Have you ever taken a trip to ULTA and blow by all of the new releases then leave with the just the items that you actually needed? No, me neither but I am pretty good at this when shopping online. I honestly save way more money shopping online as I have a hard time impulse purchasing products that I have never seen in real life. I certainly still do it but I am pretty proud of myself this time around, I only picked up products that I was replacing. L’Oreal was on BOGO so I picked up some of my trusty FitMe setting powder. I really like this, I don’t…

    Starting Tretinoin

And I am absolutely terrified! Reason being is that my skin looks pretty flawless right now, or as close to it that it has been since having moved to a metro area which really freaked it out. I don’t eat dairy, meat or processed sugar and I drink my body weight in water so please, no helpful tips 🙂 Moving to a city where the air and water are chalk full of toxins, destroyed my skin and it has taken me years to get it back to a point where I feel good about not wearing foundation constantly. I am starting tretinoin as the first step in getting rid of…

Monday Must Have – Lash Tonic

Ah, Monday – the fascist dictator of the week, so terrible that it even ruins part of Sunday. Today’s must have product is DHC’s Eyelash Tonic that I have been using for some time now, I picked it up when I started wearing false lashes more frequently and it has become a part of my evening routine. This tonic claims to strengthen and condition lashes so that they not only appear fuller but are overall healthier. It is formulated with a number of botanicals, aloe, ginseng root extract and olive leaf extract. I tend to be drawn to olive products because they are really good for the skin/hair and I…

First Impression Friday – CosRX One Step Moisture Up Pads

It’s more skincare! Are we shocked? I so far have not tried a single product from CosRx that I haven’t liked which is pretty major seeing as how my skin can react really poorly to new products for literally no reason. Nothing that I have tried from this brand has given me any issues! I have been using the One Step Original Clear Pads and these have been awesome at keeping my skin clear especially from blackheads which can be very stubborn to get rid of. I really love these and am keeping them in my routine but wanted to try the Moisture Up Pads because these have the added…

Monday Must Have – pixi Face Oils

I can’t lie – I have an on again, off again relationship with face oils. I go through phases of having to have them and phases when I can’t recall why I ever started using them. I started using them when my skin was hyper-oily, the idea is that dousing your over-oil producing skin in more oil that it helps to balance the production. It does actually work, it sounds insane but it’s science. Now that I have dry skin, I like face oils for the added moisture barrier and long-lasting hydration that they provide. I also think makeup applies better and wears better over a face oil but that…
