Monday Must Have – pixi Face Oils

I can’t lie – I have an on again, off again relationship with face oils. I go through phases of having to have them and phases when I can’t recall why I ever started using them. I started using them when my skin was hyper-oily, the idea is that dousing your over-oil producing skin in more oil that it helps to balance the production. It does actually work, it sounds insane but it’s science. Now that I have dry skin, I like face oils for the added moisture barrier and long-lasting hydration that they provide. I also think makeup applies better and wears better over a face oil but that…

Monday Must Have – MadeCera Cream

I am not super good at sticking to these catchy series and usually just bust them out when I can’t think of a good title so don’t expect anything from me 😛 I talked about this cream from SkinRx Labs in a monthly favorites post a couple of months ago and I love it even more now than I did then. This cream claims to restore damaged, dehydrated and sensitive skin. It’s packed with a cocktail of fermented ceramides as well as centella asiatica extract which is good for redness and niacinamide to fight fine line and signs of aging. I still cannot say that I am totally sold on…

    Pixi Picks for Glowing Skin

Mad Men has to be one of my favourite shows, the story lines can be borderline but I like the costumes, retro Madison Avenue, the music. Plus the cast is stacked but I recently found out that Jon Hamm really was an alcoholic! He went to rehab while still playing the role of Don Draper, this is probably old news but I make a point of not reading or listening to any news pieces about the private lives of celebrities. There’s too much profit to be had when human suffering is the ware and I just don’t think it’s right. My best gal pal told me this and I am…

    ULTA Spring Haul!

Nothing like a new vacuum to make me feel like I really have my life together. Seriously though, I have been on the hunt for a new vacuum for ages and haven’t come upon one that had everything I wanted and at the right price. My old Hoover spit out more stuff than it sucked in but I just kept putting it off until Friday morning. On Friday, I found my perfect vacuum on clearance – when does that happen? It has a special attachment for pet hair, detachable canister, hard floor suction setting, even a ceiling tool which I have already used on all of the ceilings and blinds.…

    Korean Skincare Routine

I am a little stressed out about my skin looking so good – I am waiting for it to freak out and be like; Bitch, you thought…In my defense, that is always what happens! I am hesitant to share my new skincare routine because I feel like I will be back at square one in a couple of weeks but here I go anyway! For those of you who don’t know, I switched over to the much talked about Korean skincare routine. Depending on who you ask, there are 7-10 steps to flawless skin. I have dabbled in Korean skincare for some time but only totally switched my skincare back…

    Trying On: Nivea

Super random post for a snowy Saturday but I didn’t have anything else planned for today anyway! Nivea is currently on BOGO at ULTA, I don’t usually purchase this brand but I almost always shop sales for body care and hair care and picked up a couple of things. I am totally sold on the body lotions that I picked up, they are apparently new oil-infused formulas and they are lovely. The in-shower lotion was surprisingly an immediate win for me as well. I have tried products like this before and I want to like them, it’s a great concept – why not just get moisturizing out of the way…

    Newly Curated – Botanic Farm

Do you ever find yourself just casually listening to some music and a band comes on and you’re like, Wow – this sucks. Then you look to see who this super shitty band is and turns out it’s The Decemberists who you used to really be into like 6 years ago and now you’re judging your own shitty taste in music. Good thing I didn’t get that tattoo but in all seriousness, their new album is terrible. What happened?! I feel like Newly Curated is a classier way to talk about more shit that I bought that I don’t need.  Soko Glam just started stocking Botanic Farm and I picked…

    Dear, Klairs

I have conceded to the fact that I will have to purchase a new car in the very near future. This is very bothersome, I pride myself on how long I have owned the one vehicle. Others probably just see a rusty POS (rusty but trusty) but to me, it symbolizes a fight against the disposable lifestyle that first world countries have become accustomed to. Cars are not disposable, houses are not disposable – they should be rationed instead of manufactured, bought and sold with reckless abandon. I guess the only thing that I am excited to have in a new car is a working stereo system which is the…

    K-Beauty Skincare Update!

I accidentally Hulked out on my tube of Charlotte Tilbury highlighter and over-tightened the cap so it broke. I do this constantly, I have a commitment to over-tightening twist caps and it usually leads to something breaking. Instead of wasting the product, I just wiped it all over my face – I don’t know if that was a mistake or not but here’s a pic of my face: I mean, I think it looks a little sweaty but I would do it again 😛 I was going to talk about some additional products that I have added to my skincare routine but have decided to do a ‘check-in’ post instead…

    Essencially

Punny, right 😛 I sometimes use memes in everyday conversation, I cannot be the only one who does this. Some coworkers asked me if I wanted to go to happy hour and I said, No, I have a meeting with some watermelons. Everyone looked at my like I was nuts, I was being sarcastic and I don’t like making excuses and that was as good a reason as any other. I mean, come on people – do you even internet?! When I first started talking about my Korean Skincare journey, essences were one of the steps that I often left off because I hadn’t found one that I liked or…
