    First Impressions – Soft Glam

Here it is, the palette that made me realize that I just don’t like ABH eye-shadow. I own more than a few and it seems odd even to me that I am writing the brand off when it comes to eye-shadows but I just don’t like them! When Subculture was being torn to shreds on the internet, I didn’t get it – it was just as powdery, just as patchy and just as tricky to work with as my Modern Renaissance palettes (I’ve been through two) and I didn’t see an issue with it. Also, I think that Subculture remains my fave palette from ABH simply because of the wild shade array – I don’t…

    Currently Loving: COSRx

The skincare saga continues, today I have three products from COSRx that have quickly become favourite parts of my daily skincare routine.  I picked these primarily on reviews, recommendations and also my skin needs. These are all acne fighting products and even though I don’t often get breakouts, I still consider my skin acne prone. Lord knows that I am due for a breakout here soon, my skin tends to behave for long stretches of time and then freak out. At any rate, I am loving the way my skin looks now and these products are definitely helping: Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser – This cleanser is fabulous, I use…

    May Coop – Raw Deal

Things that bother me – when people who are past a certain age (like 40) print every-thing. I don’t understand this obsession with needing documents printed, aside from legal documents, all printing should be banned. They’ve been living too good for too long using up way more than their share of paper – there should be a paper allotment – 100 reams in a lifetime. That’s it – no more paper for you! Recently I was talking about the May Coop Raw Sauce products and how I wanted to try the popular essence. Not knowing how my skin would react to the essence, I decided to try a package of Raw Masks with the…

    Sunday Funday – More Skincare

Are we tired of hearing about skincare yet? I mean, probably but I have become gripped with this irrational anxiety that I am going to wake up one day and be shriveled like a prune. Your 30’s will do that to you. You know what’s interesting, I never notice if people have wrinkles or not. I encounter mature people constantly and never find myself assessing their wrinkles. I think that eyes are what gives your age away, whenever I see someone I haven’t seen in considerable time, it’s the change to their eyes that astounds me. This took a depressing turn 😀 Apparently my skincare orders were shipped in pieces…

    It’s a No From Me – Glossier

Have you ever been so hyped over a product that you purchase two and then it’s terrible and you hate it? That’s about where I am at with Glossier’s newest skincare product, Solution. I was convinced that I would enjoy this product, it is formulated with several acids that I use and enjoy in my daily skincare routine but this is definitely not the solution. This product is described as a daily exfoliating liquid with glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids. With continued usage, it is supposed to be clearing, brightening and smoothing. Other ingredients include aloe and other skin-soothing complexes. The claims were pretty lofty but having used products like this before and enjoyed…

    Sunday Skin

Apparently, I am talking about skincare for the month of February 😛 I honestly haven’t seen many makeup releases that have caught my eye and have wearing mostly the same looks – I don’t know what that’s about, perhaps the winter blues. At any rate, on Sundays I like to use a more potent peel or treatment than my daily products. Today, I am using this Clear-C Peeling Mask from Laneige and I don’t know if I am totally in love with it or not. It is part chemical peel, part physical peel – the AHA doesn’t seem terribly potent and I think that it’s actually the strawberry seeds and…

    Sheet Mask Madness

I have a stack of TonyMoly sheet masks that I am working through before I purchase any others and I have quite a long want list – I have been trying to use a sheet mask as often as possible to make quick work of these. It’s taken some getting used to, tacking 20 extra minutes onto my evening isn’t ideal – it isn’t like it’s hard but it is a time commitment. Overall, I enjoy these masks but I don’t often see them on K-Beauty sites and wonder if these were made to appeal to American consumers but I’m not sure. There are other masks from this brand that…

    The A’Peeling C200

I am always keen to try a new face peel, I have become a bit of a peel addict. It’s hard not to be when the quickest way to smooth, bright skin is to slough off the old, dead skin. A peel that I have been using recently is the Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad, a peel pad that is soused in Vitamin C and AHA’s.  I came upon these when I started my K-Beauty research, these make the best seller list on several websites and overall, the reviews are literally glowing 😛 You can purchase these as single packets or in a package of 4, there is a…

    Korean Market Trip!

I read the name Berengaria in a book and decided that this would be what I would name a daughter. She was Queen Berengaria of England, what a fierce name – I mean, what would you do upon meeting someone of that name?! Probably just leave. And then I realized that this is probably in the top 10 reasons why I will never have kids – they would be cursed with ridiculous names. Prudence, Astrid, Magnhild, Berengaria – just to name a few 😛 The K-Beauty obsession continues, today I went to a Korean market to see what they had to offer and scored a couple of interesting finds. If…

    First Impressions – Paula’s Choice

I read a headline this morning, Do You Text & Drive – It Could Cost You. I have a correction to this, it should have read; Do You Text & Drive – You’re An Asshole & You Could Kill Someone But Since You Won’t Stop, Someone Had to Waste Their Time Instituting New Laws Because Again, You’re An Asshole. Why is that so hard? Who are we afraid of offending? If someone is doing something wrong, just say it – as a society, we are way too concerned with not offending people even when they are doing something wrong. People who text and drive deserve to be offended, they are offensive. I…
